I'm just going to have to start work on the 1 km battleships from EVE aren't I. I think it will be the only way to actually demonstrate the sizes of systems that are necessary to achieve the balance. People still think big.
But your play style also comes with the fact that you have been building for a long time before this change was here. A new player will not build the same way, as they do not expect the resources that we used to be capable of acquiring. I am down for a good HP system or at least a step away from...
Nice new banner :PAlso
ALL OF THIS
Just a heads up guys, and this is not to confirm or deny anything. It's just what I heard. But Calbiri apparently is against mining planets from a spaceship. To be honest I kinda agree. There is no incentive for a base on a planet other than maybe as a...
There are two options for this whole hull issue that I see currently. One option is already here.
The game has changed. It is obviously still quite hard to acquire the resources to build certain systems. MrFurb gave a good presentation on how long one can expect to be mining to finish a decent...
Let's ignore the fact that you decided to be very aggressive about this. I am going to talk about the game solely if you actually care to converse with me.
For the record. All of the changes schema made with the hotfix today I am totally on board with. MRFurb released some information that was...
Because you still use massive weapon systems in a universe that is trying to force a big time sink on you. You would not be building the same ships now, as the ones that you have in your BP folder currently. Those ships belong to a game version where they worked and were practical. As MRFurb up...
I completely agree and endorse this. Smaller ship fights are more exciting. Lets save the big ships for truly epic moments and keep their value in the game high.
Right. So I'll be honest. I applaud your work. I would never have guessed that it would take 5 systems to acquire shielding for that ship. If it is only 160 meters long then I would consider it a frigate-destroyer with the ships that I build. That says a lot. 33 hours of straight mining is not...
The math I was using to translate the ship from EVE was a bit off. There are some adjustments that will be happening to all ships aside from the Heron, as it is the basis for these numbers.
Slightly heavier
Slightly more thrust
Slightly less shield regen
Slightly less power capacity
Slightly...
I'm all for tricorders. But I think scanning larger objects should require a ship module. Nothing big. 1 or 2% for optimal efficiency vs the 5% for jump drives. This only applies if the current ship scanners do not ever gain the ability to scan objects instead of local ship activity.
Yes. It can be adjusted. Calbiri went through the effort to redo all the crafting twice. I think they are willing to make further improvements if the game has some bad designs.
I would prefer it to just stick to shielding. While this is a sandbox game, the ability to change a weapon system so easily seems a little cheap. Directional shielding wouldn't be so bad. Giving power supply to different areas of the ship would also be quite amazing. Currently though we can...
I like the idea of turning out resources from massive amounts of rock. We can turn a few tons of rock into a few grams of gold in reality. I bet its a long process and not really worth it. But it does give us the option to rid ourselves of these materials.
And so who are we to speculate on things that, as I have stated in previous posts, have not experienced yet. My comment was in regards to the suggestion that would alter the MOST RECENT change to the game. If the devs haven't got a clue to how things will work out, then we as the players...
You clearly don't know then. All it takes to get whitelisted on MF is to post your IGN. Trolls and noobs have gone further in games such as minecraft to wreck havoc and grief. It would be incredibly easy for them to do so if that is the only requirement. MF has dealt with trouble makers before...
Completely missed my point. But alright. I frankly do not see why you need single player to be different or easier than multiplayer. Because that is what you are asking for. Also you are commenting on an experience that you haven't even had yet. How could you possibly know how well or how bad...
The devs have made changes to directly combat this. Because there are no limits they want to force the player into making choices and scaling down the ships they build through game mechanics. The devs directly took steps to make it harder to use larger weapon based ships. Obviously giganticism...
