My entry for the NGF competition, it get its namesake from the equally ugly and mean looking Russian fighter.
It features an exceedingly odd mix of systems that make it unusual to pilot but highly effective. (Important notes: the button on the bottom of the nose must be pressed in order to...
With AI on any decent difficulty setting PD has a very good chance of shooting down missile/beam, sure you can offset this with multiple outputs but the increased power cost from multiple outputs would quickly eat up the DPS economy you mention.
I don't understand why people dislike being on the defending side, setting up gigantic seige guns and watching the sky fill with explosions makes for great gameplay.
If there's a large amount of wireless logic loaded at once the connections have a tendency to become... tangled.
A wireless logic block may start activating another wireless block that it is not actually connected too, this frequently results in multiple wireless 'transmitters' all activating...
It should be noted that block armour does not reduce the entirety of the damage, if 100,000 damage hits a block with 250hp and a 75% armor rating only the 1000 damage required to break the block will be reduced rather than the the entire 100,000.
There are a few strategies that while worse bleow 2mil e/sec can be used to stretch the soft cap a few hundred k e/sec above 2 mil without quite lowering to the default 25 e/sec per block.
Beams have their pierce effect stopped by armor (Which is odd because that goes against what the devs initially said they wanted beams to do) and consiquently cannot break through more than 1 armor block per tick which can make breaking through the armor shell quite difficult. Cannons meanwhile...
The build a mech workshop
As a side project to give my CPU a break I thought I'd build some modular mech components for you guys to have some fun with. Just dock the components together and voilla you have a mech. The only minor complication is that when docking a torso to set of legs you have...
Instead of having your floating dock as part of the station, have it be a seperate entity docked to the station. That way you can actually have it outside the boxdims of the main station (right?)
Suddenly I am reminded of those people in fps games who stop to reload because their lmg has 299/300 bullets. Only instead it the Charon in a shipyard and everyone is screaming as the server dies.
Putting warheads in a solid line created a chain reacton for me when the initial warhead was detonated by logic, but a large cube of warheads almost never chain reacts. My theory is that when there are many surrounding warheads the damage is too distributed but when there is only 1 adjacent...
