      Just so you know, SS has it's own dedicated box now. From what I heard, player clients crashed and burned before the server hiccuped. If you want performance I suggest testing it out and seeing if it's worth it :D

      I build ships with massive interiors and there is plenty of room left over systems. Also keep in mind having crew on board the ship is an end goal of the game and we should expect them in the future.

      Except any ship you plan on landing on a planet is likely to be small. Landing a capital ship on a planet is fps suicide. Planet interaction is mainly through astronauts and will be more so when there are creatures and NPC's to discover on them and it should scale accordingly with that in mind...

      As someone that has played many a space game, not once have I encountered a situation where a small fighter was able to take on something larger just due to it draining shields over an extended period of time. It is entirely impractical to do so even if it is possible. Bring a bigger ship.
