This is something I'm planning to do more, but I have a server with friends on it that don't really tolerate many bugs.. Nor do I have time to troubleshoot with them usually.
Level of Detail was something schema talked about in the Dev Q&A. He wants to do that to help scale.
When it comes to not rendering blocks though. I've not seen many people attempt to build it that way. Does minecraft actually do this? I'm sure people have figured out better ways then...
Its very unlikely that the lava is the problem. That's generally something that is handled by the graphics card as a shader. I've watch the profiling a little bit and it seems to be more physics simulation lag.
I was attempting to use a Pull Module to create a little train of ships as well as a little salvager that attached to an asteroid, but I've found that the pull module won't move you towards a target. I was thinking a type of ship grapple that used a decent amount of power based on the mass would...
Why don't we have a small energy cost for mass, and then basically a huge increase based on the number of system blocks/systems hp. A basic shuttle with no/little systems cloaks easily, but a ship with a massive weapon array is quite hard to cloak. That's your tradeoff.
I think its awesome, but it should be hard. There are a lot of role play aspects that could be explored including hidden stations in far off sectors to be found.
#1 Nope, I'd support a no home base area though. Specifically centered around spawn.
#2 Fleet management is already planned. There are a ton of threads on this. It seems to be coming after the NPC update.
#3 Lots of threads on these types of things. I'd implore you to participate in those and...
I thought of another use and I'd be interested in what Bench thought. We could use faction points to influence trade guild expansion. I've always thought it was silly they were everywhere from the beginning, but spending faction points to get them to build a shop close would be awesome.
The way a specific terminal works (bash), which is where the up/down arrow interactios come from, is it saves your message and allows you just arrow all the way down to blank, and your last typed message. This isn't too hard usually, but has some odd corner cases. I would not get rid of up and...
Yeah terrible spelling on my phone. DnDesque - Similar to Dungeons and Dragons. Perhaps a longer story line created and tended to by creators, that reacts based on player actions. Balancing the freebuilding vs story would be interesting.
Yeah definitely this, but something longer running would...
I think one of the ways to help alleviate this right now is to have dndesque servers with events planned by server admins. I've been considering doing something like that. Create a small story and slowly progress it on a server over time. Does anyone know of such a thing right now?
Suggestion: Increase the damage of a torch.
Reason: Currently at 1 damage a second and 250hp for a core it takes ~4 mins to pop someone out of the core. Boarding successfully is quite hard and almost not worth it right now.
We should definitely be able to mine it, and I've stated on other threads I love the idea of a station on the edge getting passive resources for being near the gas giant. I'm definitely agaisnt fuel though. We just started two new players to the game last night. It was pretty overwhelming for...
I've got ~350 hours into starmade now. I get faster and faster everytime I build something. Gotta have a plan going in. Helps to have some friends to build on it as well.
