      Doors should be able to have any texture. Moving parts is what (in my opinion) put SE over Mine-Craft (if you look away from the texture variety). Having it here will definitively be a good choice to attract more players and make SM more interesting.

      Facts: With 2x ship size, 1 hull block becomes 2x2x2 hull blocks (as in : fire power per block) You don't want to barely lose a fight and do absolutely no damage just because shields are 10x as strong as hull. Shields take 1 power point per shield point to regenerate (or has it changed?)...

      Perhaps, a CPU-Share per system? If you can isolate a system from 100-systems away, some systems can lag without harming the playing experience in others. Just nearby (active) sectors have to propagate the lag mostly or some players may get an edge in chasing another or in battles.

      Ships will have "factory modules" aka "docked factory ships", thus I think this will not be a huge drawback. Hey! Always multiply by 2, 4, 8, 16, 32... :p But I don't think this will stop peoples from making factories on ships exclusively. 1 ship or 10 stations? I guess many will pick the one...

      You can use power blocks as Power-Points :p One time in Star-Trek (with capt. Archer) they settled in their Warp-Nacelles to resist extreme amounts of dangerous radiation (crew area? :D) I think landing shuttles should be allowed to inherit sleeping areas of mother-ships to match RP rules.
