      [FTL] Lagrange-Drive

      There will be "lanes" between Lagrange points. You can only travel there. Start Lagrange-Drive anywhere else and you will be dragged into a nearby one. Gates are artificial Lagrange points. There can be no long lane crossing a plane which has at least 2 shorter lanes between 3 points. You can...

      Dynamic Galaxies/Universe

      Just make everything an option and it's up to the admin+players to decide. Spawning a wreck which uses the station-abandoned type of providing only scrap can't be that hard after the other is implemented, or is it?

      Discussing: The big problem of STV systems

      This is the most useful feedback. Perhaps this thread could open the eyes to some other STV newbe too :)

      Warpgates: Close the Iris!

      But you should. How hard is it to code it in? Once I made a StarGate on a planet. It only worked when I built it on the tip of "Mount Everest" (the highest spot at some entity). If something was in front or behind it (like if you build it underground), it didn't work, I don't even know if this...

      Docking-Clamp/Magnet

      This should not be the only way to dock something. Maybe to catch something and attach it to a dock...

      The awesome new combat meta

      If somebody notices the attacker, the attacker may notice that he got noticed and jumps out. Also : most of these will likely have jammers + black (or system-colored) hull. Perhaps you can adjust hull colours with the rail system ;) Imagine a reaction time for something has changed, for where...

      [FTL] Lagrange-Drive

      Never heard of either of them or any book which uses this kind of FTL. I just read a book where they parked a remove-point gravity-direction-changing satellite on L5, (Movie)Andromeda which can't use their FTL while near gravitational pull and StarGate where their first hyperspace mission...

      Kupu's thread

      I found a good texture for rails. See the seat-place? Something similar would look futuristic and awesome. Except there is already one I don't know of.

      Use Copy/Paste to Create Holodecks

      This reminds me of a Star-Trek Episode with capt. Archer's Warp5 Enterprise ship. They once had a ship from the future in their hangar which had many rooms at one position in space. The result was a smaller ship size and a lower distance from the centre of mass. Perhaps this would allow you to...

      [FTL] Lagrange-Drive

      FullMetalFox gave me this idea, ty. Lagrange-Points. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagrangian_point#/media/File:Lagrangian_points_equipotential.jpg Sorry for the Tic-Tac ad :) Just imagine you could slip from L-point to L-point, preserving speed while eliminating your mass by shifting it into a...

      Discussing: The big problem of STV systems

      Perhaps it would draw a shadow over people which are not unique in their representational points. It is essential to give every opinion a choice among the single 1 strong option to preserve the representation of minority and thus the representation of an option the majority could be too lazy to...

      The awesome new combat meta

      Perhaps there are inter-system Lagrange-points. The L1..5 ones only respect the sun,moon,planet. If you have to jump from inter-planetary to inter-system LPs, you gonna need a route-plotter tool.

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

      I previously made a self-d-lock like this: NAA Non-Accidental Activation: ActivationMod1+2 -> And1 ASC Activation-Sequence-Cancellation (yes, I am super-paranoid): {And1 -> Delay1 -> ...Delay... -> DelayN} -> And2 SDL Self-D-Lock: And2 -> Or1 <-> ActivationMod3 SDE Status-Display-Enabled...

      Droop-Quota : From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droop_quota Quota = roundDown( (Number of valid votes) / (Number of seats +1) +1) Imagine 3 seats, 5 candidates (ABCDE), 100 valid votes. Quota = roundDown(100 / (3+1) +1) = 26 Person : First vote -> Second vote A : 26+20 -> B // representing the...

      Recognized Stasis Pods/Modules On ships to preserve logoff locations.

      But you should be able to move blocks elsewhere. If killed by a weapon : they are able to see the logbook entries of the ship (damage taken, faction) at least if the ship has a com-link with the spawn station. If removed by build mode, the remover should be able to set a new stasis-pod for the...

      Docking should be split: Rails, Turret, Fixed

      Do you have something against debris? Personally I'd like core-less non-station entities to over-heat. But I also think that there should not be a single-point-of-failure at the docking point as it makes big-docked-parts less interesting.

      mass connection

      Fully agreed to it in the past, now and the future! I use [x] to select, [c] to connect and would happily use [v] to reverse-connect (exchange master/slaves before doing the action code-wise). I once even written a 16-bit logic interpreter using this technique to enhance my suggestion^^

      Alternative Power: Battery Cells

      The problem I see is: Cloaking currently is the greatest power-sink Followed by jamming + charging jump + maybe passive effects Then weapons followed by thrusters With your suggestion both cloaking and using weapons or ion-modules to boost shields might be too easily OP and completely make...
