      Has Armor been Buffed?

I'm more referring to blocks broken per second. If your machinegun is capable of penetrating five layers of advanced armor, then you can get through the armor on most modern ships and do the highest possible structure damage per second. The problem with high alpha cannons is that they're not...

      Has Armor been Buffed?

Well, sure, you can pull it off with a high alpha cannon. But the vast majority of people I've seen outright refuse to use high alpha cannons due to the difficulty of aiming and the very low structure damage potential.

      Has Armor been Buffed?

That scale is in the 3 million block and up range. Most people I've seen still do not use single outputs for penetrating armor, but rather, multiple outputs for massacring systems. And I've never seen someone seriously using straight Cannon, Cannon-Beam, or Cannon-Pulse.

Render chunks out of view distance as smooth 16^3 cubes

It's not just the disappearing. You're forgetting that not everybody is able to run around with their chunk render settings set to 20,000.

Render chunks out of view distance as smooth 16^3 cubes

Shooting blind is also the reason for the suggestion ;)

Render chunks out of view distance as smooth 16^3 cubes

It isn't about lag. It's about view distances and servers outright not sending chunk information after, for some bizarre reason, attempting to reload them after combat has started. I have seen ships that were previously loaded outright disappear mid-combat numerous times. The idea of having a...

Render chunks out of view distance as smooth 16^3 cubes

That would work too. Honestly, I don't know how that all works, I was just throwing numbers together based on the one format I'm vaguely familiar with.

Render chunks out of view distance as smooth 16^3 cubes

A separate temp file that gets created exactly once when an object is loaded by the server, though this may contribute somewhat to object loading lag. A separate thing from the ship itself - a catalog of each chunk's relative position and its RGB value that gets loaded by the player. As soon as...

Render chunks out of view distance as smooth 16^3 cubes

Is the chunk there? Yes. Is it loaded? No, it's out of the chunk loading range. Is the chunk at least X% full of blocks? Yes. Take the predominant hull color in that chunk and render the entire chunk as a smooth cube of that hull color. Don't bother trying to load the chunk. Just render its...

      Development roadmap?

Ah, yeah. The Trello site was SUPPOSED TO be that, but it seems to be updated less often than it ideally should be.

      The Thryn [Recruitment Limited]

Oh, come now. Why do you think I accepted Jaas's application so fast? We're getting three players in one.

      The Thryn [Recruitment Limited]

A lot of people fucked up in a lot of ways, especially myself. Jaas left due to a personal problem, and we got inaccurate information from an otherwise trusted source that Jaas was a spy, which set off a witch hunt. That has almost all been cleared up by now.

      Look captain, no hands! (Auto-Jumpdrive!)

The majority of people who have figured it out on their own have pretty much decided that they should do just that.

      Development roadmap?

Throwing around credentials won't get you very far. If anything, it makes you look like a demanding ass - the loud, obnoxious, red in the face, angry mid level manager type personality. Anyhow - AI ships are a totally different system from AI NPCs. Pirates use ship AI. Ship AI is not used for...

The Nova Fleet Dynamics Starmade Triathlon! (Competition)

Ship design has a lot to do with it. Trident's fighters are extremely flat, so even if you kill armor, you're just going to have to kill more of it. My own ship was not designed to tank shots, since it was made back a short while after the weapons update came out.

The Nova Fleet Dynamics Starmade Triathlon! (Competition)

No. My fighters had primary weapon cannons and did absolutely *nothing* to the enemy ships, despite destroying some small amount of blocks every so often. The machineguns were putting out 5000 DPS, for reference. Dumbfire missiles would have made short work of the enemies.

The Nova Fleet Dynamics Starmade Triathlon! (Competition)

The missiles were doing substantially more damage than the cannons were despite that. The only "good" weapons on fighters are moderate alpha damage beams, it seems. :|
