While 4 might be enough to play the game. 6-8 is required to experience better performance. Starmade already takes up more than 4GB on my system. Especially with how Windows works with the paging file. My best guess is thats what is causing the 5-10 FPS. When an application is using more RAM...
4GB is not enough my friend. try adding at least 2GB more I run 8GB and starmade usually takes up ~60% of that. This should elimate the problem. Make sure you are running 64 bit by "http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows/32-bit-and-64-bit-windows#1TC=windows-7" under "How do i tell if i am...
THe problem depends on a: how much ram does your computer have? and b: is your system 32 bit or 64 bit. If your system is 32 bit then 1 program can only have 3GB of RAM at one time. Also your computer is also limited to 3.2GB of RAM. If you have a 64 bit system then RAM is limited at anywhere...
Even so I feel like this is a very cool idea. It might not be feasible yet to have ship to ship transport, but I feel like in structure transport would be nice. I like the idea of a menu to choose what location. For example: You have a "teleportation computer" which controls "teleportation...
The sment file needs to be imported from the Catalog manager. If you cannot find the sment file, put it on your desktop and use the catalog manager import it. The sment file cannot just be placed into either folder. It first needs to be imported. Refrence this video
When you start starmade on the second window "Starmade Connection Setup" go "tools", "open Ship catalog manager". On the window that pops up click "import" and navigate to the .sment file.
Starmade actually had sphereical shields once. They were removed for performance reasons. As awesome as sphereical shields are, it's too resource intensive. Also next time search the forums for topics similar to your's. This has been suggested multiple times before.
I guess not but I think before we add anything to the circuit we need to get it working for the OP first. I'm trying to think of why it works for me. Does my schematic work for anybody else?
Is the Clock working properly? Ex When the delay block is blue the Not gate must be orange, then after .5 of a second it should flip. the delay block should be orange and the not gate should be blue. If this is not the case then double click the delay block to send a pulse. If this does still...
You are doing nothing wrong Weapons currently only pulse when a logic signal is sent to them, the best thing you could have is a clock that keeps re-triggering the astro computer
EDIT: After some experimentation I think your best bet is to have an "in" and an "out". it reduces the logic. Here is...
If the game window says 32bit then you are running 32 bit Java. Also the log file states "24.65-b04 mixed mode windows-x86" x86 Tells me that this is running 32 bit java. Uninstall Java completely and re install 64 bit java using the link provided by WarSong ...
I think it would be great if you could add another slave. I think it should be limited to two though so people couldn't just hook up all the effects to make a super weapon.
Ok I have a suggestion on the topic of universe generation. I've noticed that the new planets take about 5min to generate when I visit them for the first time. I do not think it's an issue with my computer (Core i7). So to "fix" (hide) this I think when you first start a new universe after the...
Basically it would need to only be able to target "destroyed" blocks that are next to a "live" block. Once the HP of the "destroyed" block reaches 100% it would change back to a "Live" block and the process starts over. Of course this leaves an issue with floating blocks. The repair beams could...
Ok so I had a massive pirate fight and got my a** handed to me. After I re-spawned my ship was no where to be found. I had fought in sector 5 15 5. Searching did not turn up any results, ( maybe I typed it in wrong) so I looked at the index database thing and found that my ship was magically in...
Ya I know the shift v trick but it would still be nice to be able to "transfer" every connected block. I know I build my weapons system and then build the power and other systems around it so its all solid
