Power pyramids! I like.
I fiddled with power on my big ship and noticed that continuing to build it \"right\" still got more power than building things \"wrong\" but by a tiny amout - 1 million is a soft cap, not an absolute cap. So you\'re not completely wasting your time by finishing the...
AFAIK you only ever need one cloaker or jammer.
I also thought this \"bug\" was a placeholder feature for balancing stealth. If your ship is large and stealthed then you need to watch the hotbar constantly and turn your stealth/jammers back on every ten or twenty seconds or so. This means...
Ships that are more or less completely covered in turrets are annoying. While never nearly as tough as the main ship, each turret gets a separate shield recharge and diminishing returns. Turrets will also always absorb at least one missile because of how explosions work in Starmade. I suppose...
I\'m sorry you can\'t get up and make pizza rolls in the middle of a battle and come back to an intact ship anymore. Bigger ships have to be conscious of the environment now too, and distracted piloting is punishable by death.
Maybe my definition of a typical capital ship is different, but absolutely nothing happens when I ram 10x10x10 cubes of explosives into the mostly-intact remnants of a ship that once tried to attack the faction base. This tactic obviously does a lot of damage all at once but not enough damage to...
Crafting exists in this game but it is slow, annoying, not logical like Minecraft and really kind of pointless most of the time. You are best off selling ores and anything else you can find/mine/steal to shops for credits and then just buying your AMCs or whole catalog ships made of nothing but...
Rumor proven to be false:

Well then. That series of Reddit posts should be a sticky.
Personal weapons should be pitifully weak against ships and blocks in general. A rocket launcher is fine if it doesn\'t ignore shields.
Instead of a rocket launcher that ignores shields, how about a very slow zero-range cutting tool? Hull would be practically impervious and plexdoors would be...
The update gives smaller ships a fighting chance, but in a 1v1 duel in empty space with limited speed a figha small ship will be at a profound disadvantage against a very big ship. The big ship doesn\'t turn that much slower and a couple hits and it is over; see the vector analysis thread to get...
For all large ships the stretched checkerboard concept is superior. It scales and becomes more efficient with size while the other patterns don\'t. A typical high-end capital ship looks like a bundle of spaghetti when you cut it open because all the power, thrusters and probably also some of the...
Still no luck, although I got much closer with the stealth fighter with practice. I saw the shields go down for a second and tried to missile it but by then my ship was half-gone.
Ambushing ships that are molesting the faction shipyards is a winning tactic. I blew most of the back end off one...
Stretch the checkerboard outwards towards infinity and you win. It is the sum of many straight lines.
Small ships benefit a little from actually understanding reactor mechanics and tinkering with engine designs, but for big ships the highest-efficiency pattern for both power and thrusters is...
I would like gravity boots and also grappling hooks. These would even have civilian applications!
If there are laser rifles then there should also be alien space-monsters that infest space stations and abandoned vessels, and yaks (both regular and Martian yaks) to shoot at on planets...
So talk about post-shield-change PVP experiences here.
I built myself a fancy 500-mass stealthed and radar-jammed fighter and had zero success against a Titan-class ship that was big enough you could park a submarine in the landing bay (more on that later). I could survive indefinitely in a...
I do aesthetic reactor rooms as rooms with the walls made of power tanks and lights down the middle vaguely warp-coil-ish. Power tanks can be any shape so long as they all touch and have a nice radioactive ambiance.
It amazes me that people still try to build reactors instead of power spars. Unless your ship is tiny it is more efficient to put the power blocks in 1x1xn lines that run down the long axis. This can easily be part of a floor or wall.
I like the idea of armor that actually protects things.
Missile damage would also benefit from a rework. Minecraft does it by making a bunch of damage rays pointing away from the center of the explosion that lose power every time they break a block and pass through. While not quite perfect...
1. Create a \"ship\" composed of giant cubes of your favorite material.
2. Upload to catalog.
3. Buy ship from catalog.
4. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Not sure if broken, or just alpha easymode so it doesn\'t take forever to test big ships.
