You know, after fiddling with gravity a bit (living on the underside of a planet, making space docks, buying gravity blocks for my ships) the Schine engine handles abrupt gravity transitions really well. Cube planets might be perfectly practical and they would have none of the unfortunate...
Short, very one sided battles is what happens when a huge honking ship attacks a small mining vessel. You seem to think that the power of the force, or lore or some other feel-good, math-defying hippie bullshit dictates the little guy has to win, but newsflash. That is not what happens. Not in...
No amount of armor will stand up to missiles. You can build a fighter that\'ll shoot through a planet and then some.
The right way to fix this is to allow some shield regen back and maybe tweak some numbers on total shields again. You can bring down a mothership with just the AMCs you get at...
Tl;dr the shortest distance between two points is a straight line except in Manhattan.
Waypoints in Starmade use something called taxicab geometry in three dimensions to point you in the right direction sector by sector. The current system of waypoints is like the squiggly blue line and tries...
That\'s not a shotgun with rockets. Just, Freud was right.
However, there are sound gameplay reasons to build a giant flying metal ...cigar. Power and engines both work best if laid out in long 1x1xn colums, and a bundle of little sticks makes one big stick. This shape also gives you a large...
My turrets love shooting at other turrets.
The turret AI is kinda derpy about noticing and picking targets. You did nothing wrong. Sometimes it shoots, sometimes it doesn\'t, and sometimes it only shoots at some things.
I play on a PVP server with upgraded pirates to shoot at. I have opinions.
Being slightly smaller than your opponent is a big bonus even if you don\'t use missiles, or aren\'t allowed to use missiles because the server admin asked you to stop (he had his reasons). Take your slightly smaller...
Put passengers in turrets.
Passenger being a problem? Undock turret. Especially if it is a very basic turret which you wouldn\'t miss if something unfortunate were to happen to it, such as having to toss it into the sun.
If you weld different faces together to make a dodecahedron then you have intersecting voxels on the corners and funny things may happen when you build from one face to the other. It\'s better thought out than most of the make-planets-round posts but nah.
You might be able to make cube...
Missile spam is really, really effective because of this bug. If antimatter rounds bypass shields that\'s usually no big deal but if you can get a missile or a couple of missiles to hit then you win.
Note that the badly damaged wreck will sometimes still have intact shields. They never...
Missiles are mostly meant to put big craters in ships once the shields are already down or mostly down. Speed is the most important stat past a certain size so they can get there quickly and hit the target while it is weak, and it seems to scale really poorly.
Airbags
You probably don\'t want huge chunks to go missing if you accidentally whing an asteroid, as cool as that might be. Lose a flat percentage of your shields per violent collision to still discourage long grinding collisions but be somewhat forgiving to new pilots. If both colliding...
Every time there is a collision between two large things Starmade has to do a lot of calculations. It might be less computationally intensive to just have things that collide with too much force behind them explode forcefully. This would stop people from carelessly ramming planets with 250,000...
