      Yeah, i have been playing around with the idea of "flack turrets": canons+canons+explosive, so that way when one of the cannon shots hits a missile, it should have a big enough blast radius to take out any of the missiles friends. so far this seems to be working for me.

      You know, the problem is not the planet eating, but ore distribution on planets. We do not want to eat the whole planet, we just want the ores. So perhaps alter the algorithm for generation, and have seams of ores in locations. then have the scanners be able to determine where the ores are...

      things i will do with rails: Having spare turrets in a repair bay, so when one gets damaged, i can bring it in below decks, and switch it out with a spare. modify the venerator star destroyer to be more canon(its still an awesome ship) create "cargo trains", multiple cargo rooms on rails...

      I want to set up side guns on a ship like cannons on an old ship, and have bobby AI man them, so that way, they will shoot enemies that are in range without having to be assigned to turrets. Is this possible?

      I too want to see giant sliding doors, not only that, but the ability to raise and lower turrets. My heart stops when i jump, because i see my turrets float off some times. It also would be nice to bring them inside for repairs too.
