So far the only two reasons that've shown this to be a good idea, is that Edymnion gets to be selfish and makes his ships cost, and that Schine gets a cut of that. Providing more money to Schine is always a good thing, but the way in which it's happening is bullshit. And I don't care for...
I'd also like to point out that this is a ship game.
Ship > sniper
The point is not to go around in astro mode, the point is to build ship. With ship, the sniper problem is easily negated. :p
How about player factions can create the story arcs, and upload them to SMD for servers to use? That'd be interesting.
On a side note, if factions are going to be similar to my Dynamic Galaxies suggestion (still haven't heard anything on that subject :p) then I think that missions are mostly...
Because the basis of the game is building ships. Implementing this would be throttling one of the biggest mechanics out there. And I don't see any reason why we should be catering to Edymnion's selfishness. These are the kinds of micro-transactions I have a problem with because it directly...
But with and imgur image, no clicking is required. Imgur is designed to use images, it handles them better than SMD, thus they load quicker, and are easier to upload. That's also why I said majority, rather than minority. :P
Ah, I see, I did misinterpret what you said, apologies for that. :P
I thought you were talking about having to anchor be mandatory in order to use the station systems, rather than make it an option if they want to have the buffs of using a stations. Sorry about that. :P
The majority of those who wish to be Nomads do not want this. We want to be able to not use a station, and turning our ships into partial stations is just as bad. I've provided different ways how we can debuff capital ships that they don't become as nerfed as you desire, but still provide an...
Damn it Bench, at least you're able to go to Twitchcon, bloody Australian timezones means I'll miss it. Would it be possible for you to record the stream and post here on the site, or something along those lines? Would like to see the stream, but staying up to 3/4 in the morning is not...
How many times do I have to say no to anchoring? Reasons have been explained multiple times before if you want to know why.
We've been over this, read above. Then look at previous arguments, and see that this has been suggested before. And so far, we've said NO.
Do you seriously think that having a procedurally generated faction in a procedurally generated world that procedurally does things that benefit itself that procedurally changes the faction in a variety of ways that can be influenced by other factions isn't sandboxy? The factions can die for...
It'd be a matter of having pre-built components put into the system, and make certain parts compatible with others. I'm also not sure how you got the idea that my suggestion is more about pre-determined factions, rather than dynamic factions (procedurally generated and can change significantly)...
As you said, it can only be very crude, and is only capable of delivering information that exists as a Boolean rather than multiple numbers, system selection or a minimap. While it's quite nice and would've taken a lot of work to do, it's ultimately flawed in that respect.
