      I like the idea of the Trading Guild being a mail-order service. Put in your order at your local Trading Guild space station, and a few days later a cargo ship will drop by your base to deliver the materials or new ship you ordered. It would go well with the whole civilizations thing.

      The problem with making the planets larger is that under the hood they're basically just ships attached to the planet core entity... bigger planets = more blocks = lower fps.

      Schema has said he wants to move away from autopilots and move towards NPC crew, so slaving autonomous ships to your own is something I don't see happening.       In that case... why not just cubes? The plates would mesh together perfectly, and a 90 degree angle is no less jarring than the shallower but still extremely disruptive angle we have now. Imagine how cool it would look too, a game made entirely of blocks, where the planets are giant blocks...

      Personally I would like this, I think building spaceships that are also ships would be really cool. Why not have a liquid ocean of some sort on every planet? It obviously isn't realistic, but it would be very interesting.

      This would tie in well with the NPC crew. You would pilot you command ship, and the other ships and starfighters would be crewed by NPCs. You would give orders to your crew members via some sort of tactical map. The AI wouldn't need to be very complex, just "follow me", "go here", "shoot...

      I think these sorts of things would be best left for the players to create. In a sandbox game, I don't think it would be best to force factions to take on one of three structures.

      Light from the sun nearest star seems to only be rendered within a certain radius of the player. The green circle is pointing out what I mean. I haven't seen this in anyone elses videos or screenshots, so it's probably a setting somewhere... but I can't find it. My graphics card is an R9...

      Honestly I don't see why this would be the case. You can build anything you want as long as its smaller than the shipyard, and all you have to do is stop, stay still, and not get attacked. Other than that, it's a completely functional ship. Perfectly viable.

      I don't think removing the atmosphere effect from planets would be a good change. That's what you're talking about, right? They could probably use some improvement, but I like they way they look.
