If you look at the purple/pink button top left of the build menu it actually shows you how it's calculated so you can work out just how broken it is for yourself. ;P
Short answer; A cube is by far the most efficient shape to use.
Also, due to the square-cube law, the bigger the cube the...
A great site to get some ideas for v2 ships... Accidental Dong: The William Penn Wiener
... and just a random image I stumbled across... https://i.imgur.com/KndS3il.png
One of our players just removed old power from his home station. It asked to reboot the station and when reboot completed the whole station vanished leaving just his docked entities floating in space. He's lost everything. I believe this is because the entities were not upgraded to new power...
Devs need to review the stated V2 objectives and tell us how that compares to the current reality of V2... either that or give me some of what you're smoking. It must be pretty far out stuff...
I know they're busy digging holes so I'm going to review the stated V2 objectives from my...
yeah.... but you missed the part where circling the reactor with stabs will at minimum reduce your power by 4x when compared to a meta dong of equal length, and stability? bwaha, you don't need no damn stinking stability! ;p
A few seconds with a 2 module cannon and the stabs go boom? That ain't much. Ships are going to be very brittle. So shields will be even higher priority. Shield recharge now doesn't kick in for 5 seconds and if the shield gets another hit in that time the timer is reset effectively suppressing...
This only emphasis my point as spreading the stabilizers to 4 directions makes it approximately 4 times less efficient.... depending on how much time you are prepared to sink into it to optimize it...
135 power 3360 stabs @ 13500 e/sec Vs 317 power 2538 stabs @ 31 700 e/sec... I didn't fine...
Pre build as of today.
So I decided to get some numbers and see what the penalty was for wanting a symmetrical ship around a centrally located reactor as compared to the new meta, reactor one end, stabilizer the other...
Top left: 3100 e/sec 177 Integrity vs Bottom left: 6700 e/sec 434...
I feel this so much it hurts. Give me back a 3 dimensional power system FFS. How can anyone consider a 1 dimensional power system superior to a 3 dimensional power system?! It's inferior by design and that is a mathematical fact. The level of denial it takes to not see that? WTF?! Mind blown...
Discussing the deck chairs on the Titanic... sitting here bitching over the finer points of whether a long dong is better then a long dong that's slightly shorter... I only got a few pages in before I gave up because frankly, I am far more concerned that I'm being forced by game mechanics, into...
Thanks Andy, just one query on your response,
"Keeping it on default (25) is fine for most use cases."?
In the settings I have on my servers the default appears to be 10. Can you confirm, is the default 10 or 25?
Any one able to provide further information or insight on this particular setting?
`CHUNK_REQUEST_THREAD_POOL_SIZE_TOTAL = 10 //Thread pool size for chunk requests (from disk and generated)`
Should it be based off of number of CPUs or is it related or proportional to...
Where's the reset button for the brush size? Having to rezero the sliders all the time SUX! It would be a major improvement to efficiency if you just added a reset button. If you add a slider you should add a reset along with it....(also being able to choose and place a blueprint of a turret...
Noted and thanks for your input but I disagree. eg http://bit.ly/2txoAvn Most 'classic' UFOs are like this. The saucers are meant to be a swarm ship. They are not meant to look flashy. The only thing that is meant to stand out is the emblem and even that I've tried to keep low key. Ease of mass...
The missing files bit is standard loading, the bit it's having problems with is that it's running on an ARM CPU... (Possible cause: can't load IA 32-bit .so on a ARM-bit platform)
AFAIK Starmade won't run on an ARM processor. It's a different architecture to your standard x86 CPU and is not as...
