I was talking about placing your reactors x meters away to have 100% efficiency, which results in ugly sticks and dumbells.
Alright, consider this.
Have the same volume, but instead have a long tube with stabilizers at one end and reactors at the other. You'll squeeze out far more power for the...
You do realize the new power system requires your ship to be really fucking long for any kind of decent preformance?
If you were to look at the new system objectively, it is far more restricting for ship shapes than the old system, especially for those who want an effective combat ship.
No, quite literally at the state its in, the power update is flawed because it restricts the creative freedom of RP builders and destroys the balance of PvP. Even if new changes are implemented, your ships will still look like retarded dumbells if the system stays the same.
Wouldn't that just make ships more overpowered with new power?
Newpower(tm) is gonna promote ships that are composed of several detached sections, or something along the lines of a shitty looking dumbell. Making a vital component of the ship (like the weapons) really small is going to most...
Trinovan architecture draws a lot from Homeworld, and it seems a little bit of Halo is in there as well. (I make Trinova Hulls) It's still pretty ironic that the Vaygr Empire doesn't actually use Vaygr ships, but that's just me.
How does the new system promote creative shaping?
All it does is encourage extremely long (or detached) ships, which limits the creative freedom of both RP and PvP players.
Also it changing to something that isn't as bad is kinda unlikely, since Schine seems to be oblivious to our protests.
I don't think you understand.
HOW does the new power system allow this? You continuously give vague answers with little to no support. Explain WHY you think your idea is correct and give evidence that said idea is correct. I often see nothing aside from a claim, or many claims. Sorry to be rude...
This isn't a matter of it matching other science fiction media, its a matter of balancing and it actually working or not.
Secondly, the Death Star was technically a really big ship that was called a battlestation.
Sorry if I implied it was you, but I was referring to everyone in general. Still, it doesn't make sense for the majority to lose a decent portion of their almost ironic volcablulary to just a handful of people.
