Oh, thanks Valiant. Was going to bump it; forgot. Regardless, just a random idea, I really wish signs could merge into one giant sign... or heck, maybe you could be able to link your sign(s) to a cockpit and have a view monitor that way! (With a text overlay if you wish)
It could be just channeled through a column of gas constrained by a force field or something... Scientific nitpicking is silly when you're talking about a purely decorative block.
I think I'll bump this, since I agree but I find it wasteful to make a new topic for the same thing. SM needs more, better logbooks, and with the end of the station contest drawing near, I find it to be a good time to revisit what I feel should be stations' most interesting loot.
Wafful... That's amazing... I'd really like to be flying through space and suddenly see that floating there. That's the epic factor EVE has that this game is in desperate need of.* Impressive; 10/10.
*... But in EVE, the stations are more pretty lights and models than anything else, and...
Hmmm, what about the blueprints system? That should be tied to some kind of block too; one that would link to a docking module and save/load from there.
Well, how do you want them to open, Zeno? If you want it automatic, set up area trigger fields on either side of the door? Otherwise have Faction Perm'd activator blocks that are crosslinked to one another and connected to the door.
There was an inverted variable; that was fixed.
...Anyway. This stuff is really awesome... But erm, schema , what about the crafting? That's all in, right? Oh, and the particle system. When will that be properly implemented?
Here's a tip. Don't try to squeeze every last bit of optimization out of a ship, and don't let systems turn your ship into a decorated box. In the end, it makes thing better for everyone, at least as long as people follow that tip.
Meh, I just get a general shape in mind and build a frame, then try to fill the contours. Sometimes it looks weird (I still have to fix the nose of the Eser-Kalan... It makes the ship look like a boot!) but normally it works out.
