      Well, with faction points up-and-coming, it will be possible to take out a perma-shielded faction base if you kill enough of that faction's members. So, ground vehicles could be used to assault an enemy's home base, and would do the job much better than just astronauts.

      I'm not sure I see why it would speed up after you built your first one, unless your first one happens to be a heavy asteroid miner. I mean, it'd still take the same amount of time to gather all the materials.

      Interesting, but not really practical. They'd only work if the sails were pointed the correct direction, really, but it'd still be cool to see them. Maybe a later term thing when most of the core features are added.

      So? People would probably go for shields instead of hull still anyway. Think about it. Would you rather have 495 regenerating hit points + 100 backup non-regenerating points, or 200 (standard) or 400 (hardened) health?

      Well, piloting being easier or not would depend on whether or not the pilot has physical movements in a cockpit matched by the mech, or is simply controlling it like a standard vehicle.

      The problem with that is, how do you determine what exactly is inside and outside the ship? I'd really like that, but I'm not sure it's possible. Also, Plex Doors stop incoming fire, so you can have a bunch of active ones covering your hangar door, allowing fighters in and out but not lasers.

      Small ships shouldn't be able to be picked off at a distance, in my personal opinion. The new turret inaccuracy is a good thing, it just need some work so you can actually hit things some of the time.

      Well, if you were, say, flying past the mid section of a ship, you'd have turrets aimed at you from multiple sides, plus the possibility of other factors like being tailed by enemy fighters or being attacked from even more directions by other ships' turrets.

      No, then beams and missiles are the only viable weapons against well maneuvering smaller ships at long ranges. Bullets still travel fast enough to be accurate against small ships at close range, and big ships are too big to be missed at long range, even by AI who don't lead.
