      Yes... THIS, I would not mind. The blocks are already there, so it'd be nice if there were tetras and pentas only for terrain blocks so the terrain generator could do a smoothing pass and make the terrains look 100000x better. And yeah, it would be good for doors; I can't think of anything else...

      Bad analogy... However, I don't really like that proposal either. Repairing armor HP is a fine idea, but IMO if players want to repair a ship's hull out in space they should have to do it themselves.

      ...Thing is, a lot of this damage control would be done from inside the ship... This game's mechanics make it a bit impractical to have access corridors that will actually get you to most portions of the hull and systems, so I see no problem abstracting that to a generic "damage control" NPC.

      We can come a bit closer than we are now, though, but at the cost of playability for lower-end computers (like mine). That said, a few things, like optional Depth of Field, along with properly-modeled stars and large planets (See the 'island planet' suggestion someone had) would definitely help...

The one question is how to handle damage. Damaged blocks could be repaired at a FP cost per mass, or the station's...

      My idea is that the defeated ships would warp away or instantly blow up. There would be no overheating, dead hulk to salvage, and no way to enter the core of the ship while it's in space. Of course, this does not work with boarding mechanics very well, so IDK... Regardless, the core idea is that...

      I was envisioning ships crewed by faction NPCs warping in, supposedly from somewhere else in faction territory. Not drones jumping in from somewhere. Drones are boring.

      There should probably be a configurable option to either destroy summoned ships when defeated (Permanent despawn on overheat) or to have them warp out, cost a certain amount of faction points, and go on cooldown before they can spawn again.

      It would probably be cheapest to just treat the dockable thrusters as an extra (available) thrust force in the direction they're pointing. (In other words, ignoring the position of the thrusters.)

      Maybe for larger ships a larger dimension is needed? That way a station with a broken antenna can still summon smaller ships but not bigger ones? IDK.

      Personally, I kind of want to require people to get out of their ship and actually activate a shop block to use a shop... That way, factions can have public shops and private shops on the same station, with different prices. (Additionally, people would actually go and use those awesome trading...

      YES. Rather than a credit fee, though, I'd say that it should use a few faction points, scaling up based on ship mass. Maybe 1 FP per 100 mass? (Also, the beacon block that lets us do this should let us have several custom transmission messages when the station is hit. "NO SOUP FOR YOU!!"...

      I will have to experiment with similar panel turrets for our own starships. Your turrets look suspiciously... tiny... but regardless it is probably better than the odd embedded rocker panels we have in the sides of our ship and one way or the other the amount of blocks I can fit will end up...
