Tags could work pretty well now that I think of it. My original idea was that we would have a BP list somewhat like shops do. Where your categories could expand/contract. But making them searchable with tags would be a very cool feature in addition to it.
I play a bunch of survival style games. From Minecraft and Starmade to Dayz and Ark. There is something that Ark has, which I think this game could benefit from.
If you have ever played ark you have "Engrams". They are basically game recipes for crafting. But you can organize them into...
Well. I can't say I agree with this suggestion.
If I understand the goals you want this suggestion to accomplish they are the following:
1. Reduce the lag caused by mining asteroids.
2. Give a reason for people to fight over resources.
As for #1, The issue isn't that blocks are...
Although it might make an interesting option, The issue boils down to this:
If your player is 10x larger. And the blocks seem 10x smaller... your going to use roughly 10x the blocks to build with.... NOW that titan that was 1km long... its 10km long and murders the server just because you spawn...
Great... NOW someone points out my little miner in my survival world needs a complete revamp...
Well onto bigger better things !
TY for all the info.
I wholeheartedly agree. I just had to repair some (minor but annoying) damage due to the pirates spawning as some new drone designs I built. On the plus side, I know the drones work well.....
I then had to go through my ship list (there are many) and deactivate "Enemy Usable". Wish I could...
Well... Moments ago, while re coloring a large drone carrier frame I had a nope moment. As I worked and neared the end of the new paint job I suddenly noticed I was taking weapons fire. The game decided my new saves of my drones (The ones I'm working on for the Drone Wars Competition) were...
Like jstenholt said, no. But I really wish it could be done. Maybe have a camera changing option that allowed snapping to any of the 6 sides as down? Would be helpful sometimes.
Well Kiraen, if the attacker does not have a 2 block inhibitor to stop the player before they try to run, that would be the attackers fault. If the attacker failed to counter the escape route, then of course a loosing opponent (or an ill equipped one) will try to escape.
He who fights and runs...
I am now imagining a station, where you have a main room, and ALL the rooms are summoned by button to the single doorway. In space you don't travel to rooms, rooms travel to you !
Though somehow I think my image is not the same as what you meant.
Ive not played much with moving fast through a station yet, but what about having multiple gravity blocks? Say the right side of the hallway shoots you down in that direction only? and you stop at the end and "normal" gravity is enabled? couldn't that work? as you wouldn't have to worry...
I agree with people that have said this "Feature" is a player made band-aid to a larger issue with travel in the game.
At the same time though, I really love those kind of "Tech Advances" or "Workarounds" that the community thinks of. I actually didn't know about chain drives until this thread...
wait... the holding control de-binding your camera was a "Feature" ?. I always thought it was some kind of bug ! I propose that "feature" should be removed.
As for the topic of building while moving, My best guess is that there is lag between the input, and ship position or something...
Oh, I would also point out, that as far as warheads being used by cloaker/jammer ships, I don't think we should balance warheads around that. As its widely known that the mechanics for those two systems are not balanced at all.
I also don't think we should worry about warheads covered by...
About the issues with AI not reacting, couldn't you have a small Inhibitor system on a logic clock to just decloak anything that comes into the system?
