      You'll have to remake a new world again, and this time check your world settings/parameters. By default the max number of NPC factions in a fresh install/fresh world is "disabled" (-1) for whatever reason.

      If it were filled with shield blocks, NPCs could not get into it and rest, so it does not matter if there are checks or not.

      I'd imagine that the zone wouldn't prevent you from having blocks in it. It would just define an area of the ship as a rest zone or whatever.

      Literally just a blob of systems for testing purposes. These will be replaced with actual NPC faction assets in later builds; you can use your own stations if you want. :P

      In the multiplayer menu, at the top, there should be a button to "uplink to StarMade Registry" or "uplink to star-made.org" or whatever. Both SP and MP use it for whatever reason.

      That will not fix it. navy3000, Re-uplink your game to the StarMade Registry. For some reason something occasionally happens to the uplink and it breaks. Redoing the uplink fixes it.
