      [OT] What draws you into playing StarMade over others in this genre?

      Mostly, I got tired of being forced to fly predefined spaceships with predefined weapons setups and put up with wacky 2-D flight in games like EvE or Star Trek Online. :\ StarMade neatly solved both of those problems.

      You could always just get rid of water blocks and write the terrain generation algorithm in such a way that the four corners are always ocean, then have a large "ocean" that isn't made of blocks. Of course, this would mean programming either water or a solid flat placeholder...

      4-byte blocks can happen; rewriting the game will not happen but native libs can be written in C++ for physics, and IIRC that is planned though it may be a while.

      If the slab bar was reintroduced (and added to the astronaut mode CRTL menu) that would alleviate the issues. Also, if there was some way to scroll between slots without scrolling through all the options that'd be nice...

      The problem here is that in most cases, you will need all available shapes, so the current system can become more of a hindrance than added convenience. The factory changes, however, make the entire thing worth it for me, so I won't complain... too much. :P

      Consider the fact that, whatever new factory system is added, it would in principle do the same thing: Take raw materials and produce either blocks or (hopefully) a complete ship.       I haven't run into a sun once... However, setting multiple waypoints seems like a natural feature to have. The trick is just optimizing the UI/UX stuff involved with it so it doesn't end up being cumbersome to manage them.
