Advertising, mostly. There's also not much to do in the game besides building atm, so most individuals get bored quickly. Of course that will change once creatures and other stuff come out, but in the meantime starmade is more of a build game.
I believe that the range can be increased in the config file, so you should contact your admin about that.
Also, wouldn't the better solution be to fix the actual problem (bounding box lag)? I can see reasons why the devs wouldn't want to extend it any further than it already is (mostly...
Yea, I was thinking more along the lines of having a carrier group and have all the carriers be normal fleet ships (meaning that they don't dock to anything). A good idea would be to use enemy detectors on the carriers, that way they could even launch all the drones automatically :D
Wouldn't...
Oh, I see. So the drones get recalled to their pickup points, even if those points aren't on the fleet's mothership. That's pretty neat :D
Could do interesting stuff with multiple carriers and wireless logic to launch their drones!
The lighten system actually has the capability to work properly, see BearishMushroom 's lightier lighten mod (or whatever he called it) for that. As such, I don't think that a wire frame is really necessary (assuming that the lighten mode gets fixed).
There's also the fact that it could...
So yes, you basically rephrased what I already said. The point is: why should people from steam or other communities have to buy the game to vote, while forum users don't?
In an other galaxy there won't be anyone around, ever. And don't pull the "oh but there's a 0.0000000000001% chance of" argument, the point is that they're still voluntarily avoiding interactions with other players, on a MULTIPLAYER PVP SERVER. Therefore, they are wasting server ressources to...
Game bought would be better tbh. Duke's system practically excludes anyone that doesn't frequent the forum (unless they bought the game). Other communities shouldn't be discriminated against, so having the same requirement for everyone is better imo.
But why would they play on a PvP server, or a server at all, if that's the case? If they're just going to sit in their homebase all day 10,000km away from spawn, then they might as well just play single player and not take up server ressources for people that actually want to play.
As far as I know the order of entity-switching with the arrow keys is completely messed up and needs fixing. I think that it's more in the realm of coding issues though, there's even a bug relating to that which got fixed in the last update (looping between entities).
There's also the fact that some players on alleged PvP servers will cry GRIEF to the admins as soon as you visit and scratch their paint a little (socialization on a server? *gasp*). The admins will then cater to those little bitches antisocial fucks wtfAreYouEvenOnAServerFor players and apply...
The last part is especially true...
500 million effective shielding, I don't know about the regen yet.
That would be fun, but it still couldn't turn. Thrusters also have an efficiency curve, so past a certain point they don't provide much thrust. The ship already has ridiculously powerful...
First of all: Her. HER drawing didn't look nice.
Secondly, people are getting pissed not only because you were being ignorant of the fact that faction balls are MADE to look like crap, but you insulted Claru out of nowhere. That's all in addition to spamming nonsensical and unfunny memes that...

Current progress:
That was the hard part, since I had to copy/paste the ring on a new entity and redo the entire cowling, the central section should be a lot simpler/easier to make.
