There is a setting that allows you to preview blocks you are placing, I highly recommend it. As for the gravity modules the top and bottom texture appear to be correct so just make sure you are using those accordingly.
This issue has actually recently come up in council chat, options are still being discussed. I think it was mentioned it was something Schema wants to allow it but there are technical limitations stopping it from being done in game currently. I do think an official external editor is planned.
I started using new 3-1 turrets as the old ones were shit, I'm not sure if I ever released a ship that had them equipped. I think I'll release a turret pack, just export and zip them all up.
Finally got around to one of my larger artillery pieces. (still my smallest artillery)
I really hate some of the gaps in it but to get the max range of motion I wanted I guess I'll just have to suck it up and deal with them.
If you pillar up from the planet to dock the ring it would no longer affected by gravity, if it works on that station it will work on a planet, the difference is the planet ring would need to be bigger but other than that it shouldn't have much impact.
yeah same here, tried but abandoned it when rail dockers couldn't be used on any entity that already had the weapons tab populated. Hell, I've been more or less building a standard airlock since before rails were even announced with the intention of using landed ships as docking arms to reach...
You can't move planets. When you dock to something you become it's slave, it moves you. There is no way to pilot and dock a planet or plate to a ship in order to become it's slave and be moved by the ship.
That could be done by having larger ships spawn regardless of what you are flying and have sense of progression come from who they decide to attack. I want the universe to feel real and not like it revolves around me.
The Bull-shark was a ship I did for Raibens "Ship a day to keep the pirates at bay" contest a while ago. It used docked "shield cores" to have those broadside guns using the old system. Of course those are no longer needed so they were scrapped. The ship was never finished so it was never...
I've never been a fan of the "harder because farther" idea. I want my galaxy to feel real and alive. Just because you are x distance from the core doesn't mean the ships should be larger. It also doesn't encourage exploration because you know what you get and punishes people who like to live...
Phalanx is top right.
The 4-1 was the easiest to do, all I did was chop off the sides and build a base for it, unfortunately this means that it is 2 meters taller than the original version though but it's a nice turret none the less. I may try and do a lower profile version later. However...
