The only problem with that is the pirates keep spawning if attacking a pirate station and if you're attacking a player owned station they are quite likely to nuke you out of the sky.
No harm in a bump if there is something good on topic. :)
Needless to say I started messing around with auto logic and ships in combination and this small drone was the result. Going to post the full group when done in another topic though. The general idea behind this was to make a ship...
Been working on this for a bit and trying to prevent instant transferring of items from the pickup box the miner I've made is using and the final destination. There's a storage box halfway between them that is suppose to be used to trigger a push effect when empty and trigger the other storage...
Could make it so the storage blocks hold the loot on pirate ships and on any station. The Loot Clouds could be explained by one of these storage areas being destroyed outright and some of the loot that survived would be sent flying but move in the last direction the ship was going at the time...
It happens with any beam + something else combo. Beam + Beam is the worst offender out of the bunch. In any event they are getting a fix out for it and seems they got one and just haven't sent it up yet.
You'd have to have them activate at different times though and trigger fast enough to have a perma scan up. Not sure if the scanner can be logic triggered though.
Depends on how dead it is. Normally I'll just salvage it in a large salvager or using the build menu to do it. If it looks cool enough and can be restored to working order without much of an issue than I'm likely to capture it and tow it back to base.
Noticed the low ping and came hunting to see if there was a topic. Might stop in to check a few things. The server I was on is a bit bugged right now and just crashed so I'm hunting around to see if there is anything interesting going on. Been cooking up ideas for pirates and looking at ships...
lol might not bug me but it does bug some people. If they set it to turret they expect it to stay that way. XD In any event I was just think up a possible solution aside from just making sure attached entities retain their saved BP state and not change without the player making them change...
lol mostly works for larger ships that can't turn fast supposedly but I came up with the idea after seeing something in another topic and figured it would be a nice fix in the form of a block. :) That and it would be handy for side facing exo armor guns that I'm tinkering with.
Unlike the normal one we got this one doesn't turn and it would help in retaining the settings of a turret meant to be facing a particular direction. Currently we've got to use normal rails for this but it seems bug or not the AI likes to change back to ship for some people so why not let them...
hmm interesting. Will pass some of this useful info along to someone that might find it very useful. They are planning on resetting their world due to a bug with the database so assuming they haven't already it should come in handy for them if they haven't already found it. :)
Not sure how this would work but say a station core works like a ship core to a degree but it is 3x3x3 rather than the 1 block size. Other than that you could get into it like a ship core and could still deploy a build block like normal.
The main reason for giving stations a core is to make...
Basically one big ship made of many smaller ones that breaks into the smaller versions after a bit after spawning. Anyone done this yet? Would be kinda funny to see how much lag a server could take from one of these composite ships. :)
lol Working on a satellite to just pepper the whole sector with beams. If someone gets hit once than they come out of cloaking or jamming. So several of these around an area should make it so perma-cloaker/jammer builds have to take a different route or have enough fire power to kill the...
