Actually the jump drive and warpgate ranges are in sectors not km. Jump Drives have an 8 Sector range by default and warpgates have a 128 sector range by default.

Well I haven't seen this guy yet but if he sets foot on the server I'm on he won't live long seeing as the area around spawn has about 3 armed gates around it and all of us aren't shy about PKing trolls and thieves.

Yes build blocks can be placed almost anywhere and the same thing with faction blocks. Hit the R key on the faction block to open the menu for it and it should have all the information you need.

Could set things up to where anyone can vote, say a cut off for a particular round would result in someone posting up a link to a survey poll listing all the current people that have posted an entree for that round. The next round would start practically right after the voting is deemed done...

Yep factories can be hooked up to logic for the on and off parts but they have their own internal timers that change depending on what they are making so it might be a little tricky to setup right. As for my factory setup it depends on the station or planet but mostly enough of each factory...

I normally min 10 blocks per group but as for min DPS not sure since it changes wildly depending on what you are facing.

hmm there could be a way to make spherical planets work if you start the squares at the poles and radiate out from them rather than starting at the equator.

If I remember right there is also an admin tab for spawning large groups of ships but sometimes the commands are faster if you aren't dealing with several different ship types and stations at a time.

I've noticed that the game seems to think if there isn't room above the core or near it in some case that it can just pick a spot. Happens totally randomly too, sometimes I'll be where I'm suppose to be and other times not. It seems a 2 block high, and 3 blocks wide space above the core or...

We could start a continuous version of it with nothing other than pride and whatever people want to offer on the line for prizes, mostly just gamer/builder pride though. Announce winners for a particular round every so often and let people build on their pirates to their heart's content. Say...

The thing needs to be setup to only render what can be seen from a given player's perspective so this isn't such an annoying issue.
