      The planet doesn't just distort blocks, though. It visually warps everything on or near the planet, including things such as ships and weapons fire in the background. A system like you're suggesting wouldn't work with the kind of spherical worlds that Schema's done before.

      I'm not sure if cannons can actually get the "piercing" damage type any more, now that they have innate punch. Pretty sure pierce effect just buffs cannon damage to blocks. Beams use the piercing damage system. I'm not sure if that can go through empty space or not.

      False. While spaced armor is very useful against missiles, it does NOT do anything to punchthrough.

      No, that... sounds pretty horrible in every sense of the word. It's incredibly insulting to engineers to simplify their designs down to "who's got the best scores" and turn a doom cube designed around SCORES rather than actual system quality into the ultimate defensive ship.

      Two dev blogs in one week? You've gone mad, Bench! Now, to read this... EDIT- This is the only issue I have with fleets, currently. There is almost certainly NO WAY that unloaded fleets are going to account for things like docked reactors and turret turn speed.

      Most solo players still have a solo faction, don't they? Besides, if FP gain was inverted to territory +, players -/0 (as it should be), solo players would still be able to run drones, fleets, and NPCs. Those all cost resources. Like, a LOT of resources.       Attacking fleet crew want paid more because they're in constant danger? I just feel like defensive fleets need some kind of buff, since they're more resource intensive to maintain compared to an assault fleet.

      1. There could be a way to make a more permanent connection, similar to the merge block system in Space Engineers. 2. Lag already existing is not a good reason to add even more lag. I'd prefer if the game moved to a non-docked system to replace docked reactors, also.

      Are we sure if the interior side of the plate doesn't load? I mean, it's an "exposed block," so it should load, right?

      No thanks. There's a pretty equal ore distribution inside asteroids, so as long as there's some of the asteroid left, there's probably still ore left. Someone will end up picking it up, and then the asteroid will end up respawning.

      My main problem with encouraging multi-entity ships is that the more entities you have, the more lag you have. If you can make modular ships work without increasing entity count, then sure, I'm all for it.
