I made some tests (I skipped missile due to being useless):
No slave: Burst length < cooldown (50% uptime)
Cannon: Burst length = cooldown (100% uptime)
Beam: Burst length > cooldown (100% uptime)
Pulse: Burst length < cooldown (50% uptime)
Between mining two blocks there seems to be a delay...
Pulse just means that the beam is on for several seconds and then goes on cooldown for the same time (without cannon slave), once started it doesn't stop until the pulse period is over.
This is the only problem I have with the new salvaging mechanics, the rest is fine. It's really annoying when the game does the opposite of what I want, it feels like Windows.
Salvage beam + cannon still generates a burst, the only difference is that the cooldown is equal to its duration. As long as the salvage beam is actively fired it workes like before, but after releasing the respective button it doesn't stop immediately but finishes the current cycle. In other...
Why wasn't it possible to fix this bug with keeping the 1:1:1 ratio? A 1:2:1 ratio is unintuitive (and psychologically destabilizes certain players, who have to refit all their titans).
Edit: Deprecated, please ignore.
I'm clearly not a fanboy. I criticise what I don't like, for example the useless potato generator.
If a game designer reduces the intended DPS of a weapon it's a nerf. If they fix a bug which gave a weapon more DPS than intended it's a fix. Weapons with slaves and effects now do as much damage...
What do you want? I already agreed that the 1:2:1 ratio is counter-intuitive. I would have preferred another solution as well, but "I have to refit everything!!!!!1111" isn't a valid argument in an alpha game. Why do most people just whine? Why don't they try to understand what exactly the bug...
The secondary system is compared with the primary plus the tertiary system. In other words: For 100% bonus you need as much slave blocks as you have master and effect blocks combined.
*Sigh* The amount of butthurtness in this thread is epic. :(
You don't say!
That's why clever people keep separate systems spatially divided.
That's exactly why my titan is still as hollow as many poster's arguments. Your job as alpha tester is to report bugs, give feedback, make...
