      Care Bears don't fly spacecraft.

In general, these two groups appear to be served by the terms "Fighter" and "Builder". Not to be left out: Roleplayer, which leans more toward builder, but also can get into PvP territory, while having their own feature, of playing pretend, beyond the game meta.

I have a very big problem with my game client

I think it would be good to leave the thread online, so that people who have this same problem in the future can find this thread in search and see if they, too, have too much memory. By "memory too high", do you mean you had to remove a stick or two of memory, reduce the amount of RAM...

      (Another) Weapon Rework

If I were the devs, I would hate this idea, for the simple reason that it moves the responsibility for weapon development, balance, and design from the players to the devs. And then a bunch of people leave the game because of unforeseen balance issues. I don't see a clear reason why this would...

      Fleet AI is atrocious.

Derpy AI? It's Schine's secret plot to train players to deal with actual human workers. :D "Coffee break!" "Smoke Break!"

      USS Ares From AXANAR

I love how thick and "meaty" it is, compared to a conventional Star Trek starship. Even the nacelle struts are thicker, which makes more sense to me. (After all, there's highly energized nuclear plasma supposedly running through those sticks!)

      Nuclear Power structures

Instead of damaging astronauts, maybe make the enhanced reactors negatively effect crew morale, so that some other function, such as food, medicine, and/or other morale-boosting features would be needed on-board to balance the morale effect. This requirement (additional required RP...

      Ways to Automate My Economy?

Problem #1 still sounds like a showstopper to me.

How does one make a good looking ship?

I figure if you put a missile weapon system on a rail-attached entity, you won't be able to use the lock-on capability unless you switch entities. Could be neat. You'll just have to keep a limit on the number of other rail-attached entities, so that you don't have to flip around many times just...

(LAG) - Lag reduction for Docked entity, suggestion

In my opinion, having a reactor suddenly appear in a random spot of empty space would be weird. It would be better if a docked reactor exploded/despawned immediately on detaching. (Despawn with the current game, but when explosions become more interesting, have it explode in-place.)

for the next competition please consider

This is why everybody should be taught that when the deadline is one day, the REAL deadline is the day before. (Likewise, if it's a matter of hours, the real deadline is the hour prior to the deadline. If it's a matter of minutes, submit a minute early.) It can be especially frustrating if you...

To answer your question mr. streamer

I am currently creating a model of a submarine in Starmade. Fortunately, I picked one of the bigger submarines in existence to model, so I have had enough room to put in ramps instead of ladders, but my second submarine will be more compact, with less room for ramps. I recommend to start that...

      Chilupa Shipyards

It reminds me of the "Cygnus" from the movie "The Black Hole". And it does indeed remind me of a submarine I am currently, slowly building in Starmade. Good stuff.

Community Screenshots for Steam Store Page

I have to admit, I was hoping we would see a lot more combat pics by now. Not even a single astronaut combat pic. (Would someone care to take a screenshot of one of their astronaut combat vids on Youtube?) I liked all the combat pics. The combat will really sell the game to new players. I would...

From my latest project. It doesn't really show off anything with rails, but it shows how you can easily create repeating patterns with the build-helper copy-and-paste routine. A missile room.

      The Importance of RP

tl;dr The OP has writers in their pocket who can contribute storylines and other lore to Starmade, and they already have ideas, and they already realize that the lore needs to be broad to fit in a sandbox universe.

Planned option to set s different folder for screenshots

It would also be kind of nice to be able to change the default screenshot filename in the launcher. There are times when I go into Starmade specifically to get some screenshots. Being able to set the root filename would reduce my renaming effort by half.

      Implemented Armor Alternative to Shields?

So, shields without the shield visual effect. Sounds boring to me and frustratingly non-feedback to players in battle. The attacker will not know at-a-glance if their weapons are having any effect whatsoever. I am thinking back to how boring it was to fight boss monsters in other games, without...

Read by Council Entity Merge or Permanent Docking to reduce lag

I can see this being implemented in parts. Phase 1: Eliminate inter-entity (linked) collision checks on linear entities where the maximum travel matches the maximum rail length and there are no secondary rails. (I.e. simple doors) Phase 2: Eliminate inter-entity (linked) collision checks on...

Does Steam allow animated pictures? (E.g. GIFs) Between Starmade's rather unique ability to capture animated GIFs without third-party software, and the incredible sensation of Scifi art in motion, animated pictures can really impress. (What with pictures being worth a thousand words, and videos...

Recognized by Council Pseudocolor for glass in buildingmode

I uploaded a modified Default-256 texture set, which simply reduces the transparency of crystal armor (not glass, as far as I know), to make it both easier to see, and to make the crystal more integrated into color schemes, specifically, because it is now easier to see. I'm not sure which...
