      A small PD turret

Another simple rule to work by with turrets is as follows: The first axis wants to rotate the core left and right. The second axis wants to rotate the core up and down. There are exceptions, but I can't remember them off the top of my head (but they can cause hilarious results).

      A small PD turret

Can you save it as a blueprint and export it? Enter the base of the turret and open the catalogue menu, save as a blueprint. Next time you start starmade before you enter game there is a catalogue manager that allows you to export blueprints. This sounds like a core orientation issue, is the...

      Turret "sight"

Bobby doesn't really have vision, more of a detection radius (find target) and firing cone (is target in front of me?). Both ignore any obstructions in the way. Keep in mind docked entities can hit their parents.

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

And here I was thinking they were just interesting toys :) EDU's are relatively simple in concept, at the heart of it we are just detecting a change in a known physical system. For example my miniature enemy detection system relies on the collision of a turret attached to a rotator, this...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

Has anyone had a play with enemy detection or thought about them on drones yet? Short range directional detectors can fit in very small packages (I'm thinking about 3x3x3, gotta slap that particular idea together). The only thing I can think of that might be useful for drones might be dynamic...

Star Trek / Low Profile Turrets?

It is possible to arrange them in a semi-elliptical pattern (like the entrepid class onwards) by offsetting them, its a giant pain in the bum though and depends heavily on if the center of rotation is even within the ships hull.

Star Trek / Low Profile Turrets?

Think you can use this? http://starmadedock.net/content/startrek-phaser-demo.3514/ Its a demo of a phase array style traversal around the saucer, if you use both top and bottom saucer space for a single weapon you can pack quite a few blocks in otherwise you are quite limited if the weapons can...

      Startrek Phaser Demo 0.1

A demonstration of federation style phaser arrays. Sment file contains: A lower saucer style section. 2 turrets designed to traverse that section independently, if targeting the same ship they should converge in most cases (mimicking the classic whole saucer charge shot style phaser attack)...

      Smallest Possible Enemy Detector?

Here we go a bare bones unit, you'll need to add your own docker unit, wireless unit, or copy and paste the base onto the parent ship/station. Technically a 5x5x6 though with a bit of shoe horning it can be convinced to fit in just over 3x3x6. Can be orientated in any direction...

      Miniature Enemy Detection System 0.1

A bare bones enemy detection unit. This unit will slot into a 5x5x6 space, though with 2 blocks clearance around the rotator can be convinced to fit into just a little more than 3x3x6. Instructions on a display module, you will need to add your own rail docker as appropriate, or copy and paste...

      Decoy Missiles?

10% for cannon/beam, 2.5% for missile weapons, none for damage pulse. Per additional group.

am i blind or?.....Is the under fire shield recharge gone?

It it drains shields it puts the entity into combat recharge, whether it is a supply beam, a enemy weapon, or shared damage the docking chain.

am i blind or?.....Is the under fire shield recharge gone?

... If you wanted to. [edit] Just to clarify I mean shield block count, not total ship block count.

am i blind or?.....Is the under fire shield recharge gone?

Shield capacity per block decreases with block count. At high block counts that can result in millions of additional shield cap just by splitting them into separate entities.

Approx 9 million power generation in approx 70,200 cubes

You seem to be forgetting ion. 600k modules would handle a ship three times your size.

Approx 9 million power generation in approx 70,200 cubes

so 16 million regen at least pumped into weapons. 26 if you can fire all at once. A ship with 7-10 million power regen can be invulnerable to you if combat regen is somehow worked around. Bonus: it doesn't require power transfer beams to achieve it, so its even more power efficient.

Approx 9 million power generation in approx 70,200 cubes

Go get the numbers verified in a controlled environment like Dvaren then. A half dozen random number generators that have trouble hitting the broadside of a closed barn while inside is nothing more than anectdote.

Approx 9 million power generation in approx 70,200 cubes

Got stuck back late at work tonight, so didn't have the chance to do any testing. SS unfortunately does have custom block configs (water, door weights, force field weights, armour ratings, few others I can't remember). Guess its a weekend project, either way the following should be true for...

I'm starting to suspect non-vanilla configs as well. Can confirm once I get home and testing.

Nothing bad about peer review/secondary confirmation. You're making a bold claim, and I aim to verify it.
