Not worth the resources?
Small ships can easily output 50~75dps per mass.
That scales horribly however, and runs into power supply issues once you hit the 75~100k dps mark that requires additional work/mass to resolve.
I'm kinda interested in the idea of interdiction drones or micro inhibitors now (already got jump spikes, but they aren't really as portable).
I recon you can have them activate a inhibitor on undocking, problem is the inhibitor chews up so much power.
I think I'll give it a go tonight.
Finally got around to putting together the box cutter, didn't turn out as expected but mostly still up to the spec I wanted.
The box cutter is a 16x7x15 drone of 70 mass total, could probably compact those dimensions down but its late.
Its primary weapon is a 80k damage 15 second recharge ion...
Yeah display modules need a lot of love, which actually gives me a idea.
Since I use accumulators in my drone builds I might use a display module to display current power as fuel units or something for a bit of flavour.
As far as I know cloaking/jamming requires the craft to be occupied.
Effects are possible on drones, but you would need a pit crew of players to turn them on and reactivate bobbies in a timely manner until we get logic switching on defensive effects.
Probably because almost every resource you can google includes cube reactors and calls them optimal.
While awesome the wiki includes calcs, it also includes excessive cruft (including 'optimal' cube reactors)
This is pretty darn awesome.
600m puts it as a pretty old, and large leviathan.
Thats roughly 1/2 to 1/3 the length of a command carrier! (depending on source)
Yes, the power supply could support 60ish times the dps.
Proposal here for the cage fight is basically horrible weapon vs 10% mass ship with optimal weapon of same mass and no shielding however ;)
Math looks workable, got a mass range in mind for such a cage fight?
I'm thinking a 7k mass ship with a bit of over-engineering can support that, with a linear arrangement it can start eating internals pretty much immediately.
I prefer to pre-plan power requirements since I use the reactors for laying down the keel and its a pain in the bum to add more after the fact.
Most weapons, turrets or turret groups have their own dedicated power supply, so that usually means weapons are pre-planned around their power...
