That can also allow what's explained at Modular Shipbuilding although backup capacitors/rechargeable batteries would be nice.
According to that info it sounds like the stab streams aren't shielded like blocks. Someone should report the bug if it hasn't been.
For the stream damage thing I...
I agree with the npc ship derelicts but maybe not every time when they have a battle or when players have battles. I think the reboot countdown should stay but it would be nice if the ship exploded before disappearing. Also why not have random npc battles spawn around the player(s) based on...
Based off of what decurr said you could build large turrets which cover a lot of asteroid but this would only work well for large ships. Unless you want a ship with big ears.
If all the tekt asteroids you find seem to spawn only close to the star (or you don't want to fly to another system) then you can try sniping the asteroids or use defense chambers. Another option I think is to use the destroy_entity command on them and they may respawn in better areas.
Defense chambers boost a ship's defenses in the way you set them to. There are two main types of defense enhancement bases; armor enhancement and shield enhancement. (The next two sentences are iirc.) The armor enhancement base has branches for armor regeneration and strength and maybe one more...
What about docking a ship to one for making larger ship things instead of turrets/whatever? I've been wanting to make a "splitter ship" but the main ship has to have a very large reactor to support the systems of the docked one. With the current docking system the largest reactor gets to power...
What if you docked a super-titan to a station that was 10x smaller than the ship? Would the largest active reactor idea apply to this too? That would help a lot.
+1 agree
Shields don't protect the entity they're docked to don't they? Maybe they could work like the reactor docking mechanics you mentioned earlier (and the way they do now) by having the largest shield in the chain protect what's in the radius. However docked reactors were removed with one...
Here's a list of minor (or not so much) improvements.
1. Allow linking multiple nodes to one for better fork redirection. It's annoying how a fork cuts into an interior or is more vulnerable without moving the end node into a potentially annoying position. It looks like multiple node groups can...
