So? If doing so allows my ship to be 5x more effective why would I care?

The pvp players have precise balancing advise that they can give to you, trying to do it without them is incredibly naive.

Exactly the problem, how do you balance for pvp when you don't build for pvp?

Honestly Schema, fight me, or Zyrr, or any of the top pvprs who have spent hours testing for effecttive strategies, until you do, I question your understanding of the balancing of this game.

To the best of your knowledge, how often do you and the other Schine members play SM for more than a few minutes at a time?

Fight me. My vote is still for Lecic's power suggestion

How many years have people been using that as an excuse?

We are not accusing you of lying, we are suggesting you may be misinformed, which are very different things. Your effort is appreciated, but ultimately the results could be better if you would listen to the dedicated community which produces a noteworthy number of effective alternatives.

Also, I should say that I really appreciate you taking the time to discuss this with us Schema. Along with what Zyrr said, this also makes it even harder for players in low quality ships to get good block damage. Most of the pvp stuff I've done has taken place at distances of 5km to 10km, I...

Thats nice. Considering how botched many players feel this update is, particularly in the pvp community, its a little hard for us to place faith in Schine's ability address balance problems like this. I would appreciate if you could tell us before the following update so that the community can...

Probably one of the worst ways to limit spaghetti

StarMade Dev Blog 17 November 2017

It would really be helpful if you told us how you plan to address this, because the power update seems by far the best time to deal with the problem of spaghetti, especially when the new system being implemented is likely to make the difference between spaghetti and not spaghetti even more extreme.

I wish I had the skills to make an update that does so many terrible things for balance like this.

      New Power DEV Thread

Exact same thing basically, either way its adding more mass to power more weapons, why does it matter if its recharge or storage? I have never seen a competent ship builder do that under current power, however several high level pvp players have independently come up with methods of taking...

      New Power DEV Thread

Power reserve is exactly what limits super alpha. In a recharge based system that differentiates between power upkeep and weapon recharge power usage rates, I will have more alpha, because if I can power 3x the guns at upkeep levels as I can at full recharge levels, why shouldn't i just load up...

      Ships on Loan

I get what you are saying, but as a pvp builder, if I loan my best ships out, and they get blueprinted, I'm out of business.

      Ships on Loan

Add blueprinting to the list of violations, to prevent highly specialized ship designs from being stolen. I like this idea, makes ship building a more directly profitable trade.

      Bugs that are non-reproducible

First off there were better threads to put this in. This would be an acceptable compromise for me between full coverage all the time and the new system.
