Nice ideas. I too think the faction system can be greatly expanded upon. The only thing I disagree with, is that asteroid respawn is not a bug. It was left that way intentionally as a stopgap until faction points could be used to handle the respawning.

Going to have to agree. Having a nice lineup of ships of scaling sizes and uses, but having everyone only use the heavy battle cruiser is kinda defeating the purpose.

All of the yes to this. It really does make designing turrets rather anti-intuitive. The base has zero purpose other than to turn the thing, and maybe add some shields or power?

Pretty sure they all will at the same time, with planet type having some bearing on how they are generated.
