      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

Does mass not already slow down turrets turn rate? I would have thought that 5k block uber-cannons not being able to track fighters would just be common sense.

      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

Yes, I suppose the mass of weapons should be increased as well.

      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

I agree with this. Effective turret-based ships seem to want half the ships mass to be turrets. I think increasing the power, power consumption, and material cost of weapons across the board is all that's really needed there. After all, in most scifi, ships power generators usually seem to be...

I think his point was that they had glaring design flaws that, in hindsight, seem very unlikely.

      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

Well, that depends on the kind of radiation. Magnetic fields and dense armor would both protect from charged particles, yes. But nukes give off some of practically every radiation there is. The biggest worry would be all of the electromagnetic radiation (light) they give off. Any of it that hit...

      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

Nukes can certainly be destructive in space, but they would not be the world ending, battleship one-shotting weapons that most people think of them as. There's no reason that a 500 meter, shielded ship with tons of armor could not survive several nukes. Note as well that the damage of a nuke in...

      Buff warhead damage/radius poll [Remastered]

10 meters sounds OK to me. I don't have a very good frame of reference for damage, so no comment on that.

      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

If were talking about how fighters can take out capitals in Star Wars, we already have that damage wise. A dozen or so good-sized fighters with missile/pulse and perhaps a bit of ion firing at a big capital ship at once with do some serious damage to it's shields, possibly bringing them down...

      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

Warheads need a lot of changes, possibly including increasing their damage. Most suggestions regarding that have been utterly absurd, and would make them into THE weapon of choice. Adding 50 or even 100% to their damage might be ok, but some people seem to want something more like 5000% damage.

Then make 500 of them and crash the server. That's what would happen. Think titans are laggy? Try 1/3 of a titans mass in drones all colliding due to dumb AI. Your PC will probably end up looking like a nuclear test site. The "omnihulk" is a thing only because the AI is dumb as a lobotomized...

      Could Fighters Get a Buff?

In all of the 9999999999 threads saying "buff mah fighters" I have not seen ONE decent argument for why a ship with like 3% of it's mass should take out a titan. NOT ONE. All it is is "but realisim, yamato, bismark, WWII, blah blah blah" This is not WWII. This is not real life. You are not...

      The Homeworld Thread

Could use some work on the weapons color. I see a lot of plain white shots, but the basic rounds in homeworld are yellow. I would also suggest that you make the bomb launchers into missile/partial cannon or possibly just missile. It looks better, and better reflects their role and effect on targets.

No. Just no. This is an absolutely terrible idea. It seriously limits creative freedom while giving nothing in return.

      Weapon Emitter Blocks

I would consider an all-round increase in power, power consumption, and cost of weapons blocks. Turrets and weapon systems could all around be smaller. A big gun should still need a big turret, but perhaps not AS big as we have now. Same goes for fixed weapons. In most scifi settings, only a few...

Read by Council shield overcharge block

Dr. Whammy , you have quite a paradox going on here in this post. On the one hand, you are bragging about how your small, well designed ship can take on a considerably larger ship and potentially win if well piloted. You then follow that up with a claim that large ships are invunerable to...

Read by Council shield overcharge block

I feel like "buff small ships" is just a trend in suggestions now. Small ships are already more efficient, so a fleet of them is already theoretically superior to a single large ship (and yes, I know, fleet AI sucks and they are buggy as hell, but those two things should not be balance...
