Well, we really need to have fuel-like mechanics to drive economy. Right now StarMade is just paradise where economy doesn't apply any pressure on player. Automated fleet mining makes it even easier.
There is no any force to push player forwards, currently economy is used only to keep players...
Not really, you can travel fairly fast with jump drives. Noone will build defence stations if your fleet can come from another opposite side of your territory withing 2 minutes.
Ok, we know that Schine is for introducing more RTS-like gameplay.
Let's make requirments for resources grow in exponential manner, so player will need to control big territory, which is hard to protect using titans (it's better to have few fast-groups in such situation).
NPC factions could...
Faction development in game affects server performance in exponential manner. Regardless of how it's being coded. Sure, we can optimize stuff, but we can't beat math.
If Schine (with all my respect for them) embraces mass-production on one side, while on the other sets block placing limit to 10...
Now, you've touched there very interesting topic. And my question is:
How NPC factions, ships building automation by shipyards, AI NPCs and generally making Starmade first person RTS game will improve performance?
It could of course help in textures creation automation, but currently Kupu can adjust hull's contrast to make specified colored hull look better.
You wouldn't have such possibility in system proposed by you.
I'd love to see some factions that pretend to be ancient stagnant empires who have great tech but they don't develop anymore. Xenophobes who want to separate from others in their utopia.
Man... If only SM planets would load so fast and be so big...
But yea, take into a count that this video shows single render, while server needs to handle much more than single planet generation.
Lua is more like "sort of" in game.
Using RegEx as a tool to modify data, instead of logic gates, would only minimize circuits, but it's still nothing compared to full-blown lua support in game.
Don't expect PvP influential logic.
