If you fail to understand the difference about the main reasoning and secondary effects there is nothing I can do for you.
Sure, they can use templates. If they really want to spend the time going through the pains of copying and pasting I will give them a handshake myself.
Your post was about protecting the original creator. That may have been a secondary effect but it was not the main reason. The main reason behind this suggestion was to make selling ships an actual viable thing within the game. As I said, the thread got disrailed and became out protecting the...
Somewhere along the line this topic got derailed and was never set back on track. The original post was never about protecting the original creator's creation. It is about making a different form of gameplay a viable option. Currently the only way to play is to join a faction or create one...
This will be the last post as arguing with you is like arguing with a monkey, they have no idea what you are saying.
1. When did I state that criticism and arguments had to be in line with the OP? He actually provided a legitimate on a potential problem in the game should this be implemented...
I like the ideas, I like where it's headed.
This is exactly the type of constructive criticism and arguments that are needed.
Again, you completely fail to see what everyone is getting to. You seem fixated on the real world and the game universe being one in the same. As I stated previously...
I get what he was saying, in the original post Erth stated adding an option when spawning the BP to have an option of copying it. We could either have the same option when spawning a core. Or because you were spawning a core and thus creating a new ship the option wouldn't even be available as...
This should be easily mitigated by the fact that the original owner will always be able to re-upload the bp into the server. All this would do is give the original owner the option to block others from making bp's of the ships he spawns in to trade or sell.
Spewing the same crap on every thread. Not once have you been able to show how this would hurt the game in any shape or way.
The current state of affairs for the game and what we want changed.
Player A spends months designing a new ship. Player A completes the ship and sells a copy to Player...
1) Doesn't really make a difference when that person will just go on and build himself an endless supply of said ship.
2) Common in real life. It's also very common to have to continually pay for the finished product. The USG and the military are great examples of this. When...
We've discussed your points and you were unable to provide a single example with how this would be bad or hurt the game. The only thing it would hurt are those players who want to steal other's creations.
Not once have you ever been able to provide any sort of argument with evidence from the game on how limiting the copying of BP's would be bad. All you can come up with are lame and weak excuses about DRM and the fashion industry, all of which have no meaning or bearing in a game environment...
What arguments against it? He used extremely biased and one sided arguments to attempt to prove his point. Not once could he actually point to in-game evidence against this argument. If you want to use real world arguments this would be more akin to the auto industry not DRM or the fashion...
I've said my piece. You don't sell your ships in StarMade, thus you have 0 interest and 0 knowledge in what we go through. You are also unable to come up with any reasons as to why we shouldn't allow players to BP every ship they buy in the game that doesn't involve poorly worded/biased...
Talking to you is about as pointless as talking to a wall. But, lets break this down anyway.
1./2. There are numerous copyright and patent laws that protect the fashion and music industry. In case you haven't noticed, stealing designs or illegally downloading music is illegal. The music...
Again you completely miss the point behind this idea along with having terrible analogizes to base your opinion off of.
Not sure why you keep trying to bring up online piracy/DRM as those are separate issues from what we are trying to stop here. You keep talking about how making it so people...
You seem to have this weird fascination that online piracy and this are the same thing. Online piracy is a crime in most places. Regardless they are not one in the same. StarMade has a distinct lack of playing styles and things to do. When broken down StarMade only has 3 things: mine, build...
Yes because the current set-up works amazing and helps push for selling ships. Spend months designing a ship, sell it to one person, watch them copy and endlessly build there own. Yes, I very much love spending months at a time perfecting my builds to make a single sale.
You act as though space is a complete void. It isn't. There are also gravitational pulls in every which way direction that would require thrust being added to stay on the correct path.
The only issue I have with the thrusters is that you have to be accelerating in order to see the plumes. Any chance that it can be made to show the plumes when the ship is in motion?
