      LSD Locust 3.0

What happened to 1.0? The original version of this ship got lost in a blender, stood upside down, fell off a cliff, was run over by hippos, and eaten by a high speed train. In short, I never got around to uploading the poor girl before she was already horribly out of date. Author's Note: Due to...

After a ton of work, I have finally finished the Prometheus. yes that's right. FINISHED. :O Or at least for now it is... more will likely come to it later but for now its finished. Here's a few teaser photos to give you all an idea of what it's like now... The main tower section. Where the...

So it's been 11 days and I still haven't gotten the cc updated yet. Here's a recap of what's happened so far incase anyone has been curious. Started a new job, now working 11-12 hours a day. Created a template to upload to CC. Now ships have a cool layout to make us more officially awesome. ^^...

Finally got around to finishing the thrusters on the new Cricket. I decided on a cross between the current topside and the newer thrusters on the Taiga. This was the last real thing left to do on the Cricket update, other things touched up include the top side, the lighting system, new cargo...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

if you had read all 70 pages of our collective insanity you would know that practical has nothing to do with drones. that said pull or push are not the major issue here. the issue is collisions. in order for something to reliably dock you need two things... a clear space, as in nothing on the...

I took the meaning as "not possible to do easily." which it actually is, most racks are easy to make though. If you're willing to invest the time. = )

Got bored, so I started to work on the old Locust. I felt it needed some love after being left un-updated for so very long. While in the process I also updated the Ju Ga. When all is said and done the Locust is now a very valuable transport ship. It can hold about ~18k cargo between the four...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

& maverson i have several working racks which are based off rotation. Some are clip designs, others use it to reveal the drones, and one very large lag inducing server killer is also available. Unfeasibile is another word for quitter. R&Dealers make it happen, feasibility be damned! :P...

Yeap, and yeap. Although repair mode should be used with caution, huge ships will lag out immensely. <_< it rebuilds your entire ship drones and all. Much easier to use the racks alone. Also while not strictly drone tech this new mechanism i've crafted will let us move cargo pods, drones and...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

I did, and it wasn't pleasant at all. Took about 5 minutes to figure out what order to dock/undock things and nothing seemed to work quite right. The actual docking process was ugly with all the shaking and vibrating. It really just didn't want to transfer from top to bottom. Like I said though...

Anyone want to help out with this?

well if it's not any smaller why bother moving it? if it's a station, mass is irrelevant. Adding engines to the thing would take out huge chunks of space you could use for other stuff no? So it would be a smaller space to work with after adding enough thrust to move 100-200k mass ship. Unless...

I've nailed down alot of the forms on the Taiga now, I am reworking the hangar doors however. Rotating things just tend to break down too easily. I mean, every 15 minutes or so the darn thing gets stuck at some point or another. So i'll just go back to sliding doors. Things left to do on...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

Tried this earlier this morning. Didn't work out so well honestly, there's a few things that aren't quite right yet with collision docking. In no particular order... You've gotta move the docking module INSIDE the rail, jusssssst right, or it fudges up. It also takes forever to recognize that...

Anyone want to help out with this?

      a) Cause Big is cool b) Shipyard ships can't be built c) people are silly. d) And crashing the game is actually kind of the point in alpha. Just a few reasons I can think off the top of my head. :)

Anyone want to help out with this?

Assuming gravity mechanics have not changed too drastically, in the last update or so, you should only have one direction of gravity shared with the single plate that ring came from. That's because each plate is a separate entity with it's own gravity. It may be easiest of all to just nuke a...

Did some more work on my latest vessel. Decided i'm going to use an old name from a ship that was never finished. This will henceforth be known as The Taiga. The whole thing is still very much WIP but I feel the major shapes are in place. Time to chew out some of that extra bulky armor...

Did some work on the Prometheus this morning, messed around with the Locust for a bit and added cargo storage space to the Scrap Flea. All in all it's been a rather productive day so far.
