    dark_J something wrong with your computer cuz i have an old thing with onboard graphic card and 3GB ram and i can walk around-slowly- in a 500m long ship. WinXP, java32...

    Or maybe you spawn your big ships accross 2 sectors and that create problems ?
    I can do the same its just when the ship goes over 7m+ blocks it has extreme performance issues but before the update came out it did fine and my PC performs fine in all other games its just the update that broke CPU performance. I get 300+ fps in minecraft with 500+ mods installed and I can run bioshock infinite and battlefield 4 at 60+ FPS on max setting and every single other game out there even crysis 3 more or less. so its not my PC its the game.

    so people are hyping over the new performance upgrade and planets (which are both pretty good) but have forgotten about
    • New block-controller system
    • Logic Gates
    • New crafting system
    • Particle system
    • GUI
    • Weapons
    • Weapon combinations
    0.0 that's alot of stuff
    for one, Logic gates!? that means we'll get the ability to Control the ship while on-board,
    lock-down system on doors? Yes please!, Light switches? Oh yeah!

    New crafting system? lets see if they manage to make factorys a probable thing for most astronauts to use
    A new particle system, so we could have the possibility of sparks/ect?
    the default GUI will also get an update (maby different guis per pack?)
    new awesome weapons! (because who really uses the pulse-thingy)
    and also the ability to make combinations of weapons?

    I'm hyped for all of it :P

    no but they are far from completed thats why we are not so hyped about them

    The new weapons are complete, its just the combinations that need finishing.

    This is the first time I've heard about Logic Gates. What are they supposed to do?

    I haven't forgotten. im really looking forward to the new logic and particle system fully animated ships for the win!

    Sweet, and schema would it be possible to make a simple, I think, update? Change the Meters in LxHxW to Blocks, or make a block exactly 1m, cause if I build a ship, like my own one without any scales to follow, usually 100 blocks wide, cause I like my ships wide short and long-ish, but some people plan out of a ship design, and they want it to be exactly 625 blocks long, then if they lose count, oh crap, restart the counting, also, if I build on a planet now, what would happen to my base? Would the servers need to reset to delete the planets, or would my planet disappear and the new one come. Looking forward to a "crafting". I am going to go on my server and go survival. 1 planet. Me and a gun and helmet, and maybe 100k credits.

    A lot of work has been done. So here is the status update (excluding bugs):

    • New planets (50% done). I'd like to make some basic changes on how planets are generated, and some core principles, so it's taking a little
    • New block-controller system to check what is connected to what (100% done)
    • Logic Gates (100% done). Being based on the new controller system this new system is now fully functional.
    • New crafting system (10% done). The plan is done, and implementation should be pretty straight forward
    • Particle system (60% done). Most of the basic work is done as well as all the GUI. What is left to implement all the missing modules, and to integrate it into the game.
    • Weapon system (10%) the basic work has been done. What comes next is the implementation of each weapon combination

    • Another thing completed: A huge optimization has been done to the physics. Ships that in the past crippled any server now barely make a dent in physics performance.

      The combination of a specialized sweep and prune algorithm on a chunk level (on top level that algo was already used forever) will cut down calculations. Also a bugfix in calculating the overlapping area between two structures gave a huge boost.

      Overall I think it's a scalability boost of about 75% with big structures. This optimization does also affect small ships, but it mostly is for big ships in the same area.
      This update will reduce lag and the amount of warp-outs for big ships colliding by a lot

    1 block is 1 cubic meter, the reason why 500m isn't 500 blocks long is because the shipcore is for some reason 3m x 3m x 3m (would be nice if that was 1m x 1m x 1m). Changing the km/h to m/s would be nice too ^^ It really annoys me.
    About your other question: I think you don't need a reset but only newly explored planets would be new, already found planets will probably stay a dish. It could be possible that we have to convert the old database to a new one and that already found planets will be converted to the new ones, not sure.
