You could create relay points in nearby sectors around the base with turrets that can shoot 2km then you have this bubble of defense and lag outside and around the base thus the base can be lag free
We have tested this, an area of extreme lag coupled with high powered turrets is a definite way to stop attacks. The one problem is, the area we'd have to cover with 5mil dps per sector is absolutely massive, and our heavy turrets are 200mil credits a pop. Combine that with having to maintain it, keep patrol ships stationed, longer range turrets for preemptive defense, the shields for the outpost stations to be tactically viable, the time involved with setting it up, and the fact that server owners generally don't like lag being a legitimite tactic, it just isn't practical. Don't get me wrong, it would most certainly work, but the costs aren't worth the benefits, and something like that just isn't worth the poor excuses for assaults on our base we've had to deal with in the past few months.

Well if it's ever used I can guarantee no one will make another attempt on your base. Well except for a combined fleet kind of thing.

So, some random guy got the idea to attack us while we were offline. The overheating ship and the direction our turrets were pointing gives a clue as to what happened.

    Oh yes. Very yes.

The core and everything within ten blocks of it was nonexistent, with the rest of the ship riddled with holes.

My design for the new battleship, any opinions?
The image of it at the bottom seems a bit inconsistent with the protruding portions of the ship always going from the very top of the craft to the very bottom, and with that image's 'wings' only going three quarters of the way down.

It's a rough draft, and I also ran out of paper to draw it on. :P Other than those errors, does it look decent?

Excellent news and a new agenda!

Thanks to trading with the VT, we have an L5 plextanium recipie on NASS now. The one issue is that it requires dirt grass planet terrain. So that means we need a recipie for dirt grass planet terrain. After that, we need to begin making recipies for all the L1 ore types, and recipies for ship parts like hull, shields, power, etc. Once we get that done, we need to expand and trade with other factions. While we're doing that, we need to build a shipyard at the base, so we can assemble ships at base on NASS main.

It had to be a terrain block!
Those are much harder to get than non-terrain stuff

...Not if you uploaded a ship made from 50k of the things that costs less than a million credits...
