This week marks the death of a great leader, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the first prime minister of my country Singapore. He laid the foundation for modern day Singapore, and transformed what was a 716 km^2 Island not known to many, and without natural resources, into a first world country. He was a man of great intellect and resilience, but above all else, he understood that in order to achieve progress, sacrifices had to be made. Many people criticize him for his iron grip on power, but they never really took into consideration that Singapore was a vulnerable country, one mistake could cause the country to crumble. Freedom was sacrificed, but progress was attained. Was it worth it? hell yeah it was.
This man makes me proud to be a Singaporean.
Its great to see that this faction has proper leadership once more.
