StarMade v0.18999 - Some serious optimizations and balance changes

    I really Love the changes!
    - advanced armor and both shield blocks got cheaper
    - Hulls got buffed by a real significant margin
    - shields capacity doubled
    - Nukes got a litle nerf and a little speed push Great!
    - Beam missiles were slowed down, Great!
    - Punch through and piercing both have their weaknesses and advantages now, so people actually have to make a choice, instead of haveing one obvious superior system. AWESOME!

    oh right performance changes ROCKING!
    <3it this really goes into the right direction!
    Now introduce more curves (1 block does x damage infinite blocks limes at around 2 damage per block) *blink blink*

    Those block types did not have their HP adjusted. Also, a fix is to save the ship as a new blueprint, and purchase it a new gain from the catalogue. This should cause the damaged blocks to be spawned in without damage (presuming that block damage is actually the problem)
    Oh ok, but damn, the new purchase system is tedious. I tried Admin loading but to no luck. I am going to buy all the materials from a infinite shop and see how I go. Will let you know how if it works.

    im having trubble with the update such as the game crashes with the update it dosent crash on the 1885 version

    Firstly, stop using the "Realistic" or "Pixel" pack. The realistic pack has been depreciated for months and needs to be removed from the installation. The pixel is awaiting an overhaul. Both miss lots of blocks and have wrong assignments.

    When encountering graphical issues, please double check with the Default pack. This is the (as the name implies) Default setting and most current. If you are not using a custom community made texture pack, use default please. :)
    Something Minecraft did to avoid this problem was to assign the default textures to each block hard-coded, so that if a texture pack does not contain the texture, the game would aut0-fill-in the missing texture with default.

You can make a ship surrounded by pseudo-faction blocks :p!!

    Hah, just checked the latest version config and indeed, the cap is set at 30%, it should be 15%. All other changes are fine though, not sure what happened there, will be fixed asap, thanks for mentioning.

    Getting a crash on splitting large stacks. The stack split window now accepts too many digits resulting in a number format error.

    Correct, entering a number over 2^31-1 will crash your game. Has been reported already but thanks for the log. Probably you reported it?

    Since the update I all the trigger activation area blocks in my space station have gone completely invisible, even when in build mode. I havent changed and settings from the default and I am using the default texture pack. Hopefully this will make it into the hotfix?

    That is also reported but thanks nonetheless. If the fix for that isn't too hard, it will be in the hotfix but I'm not entirely sure.

    Thanks, I found the issue and it is very easy to fix, it is just that the texture slot asigned to it (477) is literally just empty, it is very easy to use a work around in the mean time and just assign the texture for the block to a different texture in the block editor (such as yellow crystal armor in my case)

    for some reason as soon as i now start up starmade once it is at 100% it crashes with no error message any ideas since this update look really cool

    every gamer knows that performance comes before looks, which some other game devs seems to forget a lot

    Oh my, this update is quite nice. If those optimizations are as good as they seem, I may be able to resume working on a project that I had to postpone due to the server crashing anytime I was in the sector. I can't say I disagree with any of the balance changes, although I would have liked a bit more of a hull buff--it's ALMOST at the point where armor tanking could be an effective strategy. Still, quite glad it got buffed at all--it's one of those changes I've been hoping for for a while, seeing as how it improves small ships. Any chance we could get a hint of what we're going to be seeing in the rail system, so we can start prepping our ships for it?

    Quick update on the hotfixes required;

    Ice had a missing texture assignment after the texture shuffle. It will be reassigned correctly and released in the hotfix.

    Ice planet plants were no longer transparent sprites. The new optimisations now require us to specify these as transparent objects where as before it only used the textures transparency to achieve the result. This is fixed and will be released in the hotfix.

    Blue forcefields had a super bright light, not a subtle glow. This has been fixed and will be released in the hotfix.

    Hot fix should be available tonight (GMT). Thanks for the patience.
    Logic area detection blocks are also now completely invisible. This freaked me out when working on my station because I haz lot o' dem that I was worried were all gone.
