ore ships are used by griefers :P

Orca = Grifers home base on wheels
venture = low sec ninja miner or a ninja salvage boat (has built in warp stabs)

i expect this new ore frieghter to be used by high sec griefing corps quite extencively ( you can haul your suicide gank ship, your scan ship, your probe ship, your bait frig, AND your pvp rig all in one place!!!!!!!!!!)

Actually, the New Order of Highsec mainly use Catalysts, and they're the biggest group of highsec gankers in the game. So I expect these new ships to show up on their killboards a lot, seeing as hauling things is boring, and so people go AFK, and the New Order hates AFKing.

No one will ever top Goonswarm in those tactics

The CR had some fun with your ships today Criss, I was in a Velator fitted with 2 highslots of small dual beam laser turrets while my faction mates Joefish and JSilva were in dragonflies attacking me :P

The fight was long and fun, felt alot like EVE having 2 fighters tackle a noobship ( even thou I've never been in a situation like this in EVE) The Velator turned out victorious, however sustained alot of hull damage.

should have thrown on an extra gun. The velator is one of the few if not the only one that has 3 turrets appear on one slot.

Yes, that's quite annoying. I think you might be able to go around this problem by making an imgur album thing.

I didnt think of that, but the images are already posted to imgur. I'll set up albums for each ship type soon then!

By the way, I think I know how to do the fading on the Ishukone Caldari shuttle. You can use yellow hull in the very back, and brown in the middle.

Honestly I might just split it 50 50 down the length. It looks just as good imo.

Hello peeps. So today I worked on the Amarr Impairor. I got a lot done! Below is an image of what I completed in about 3 hours time. From left to right: Khanid Edition, Court Chamberlain Edition, Ardishapur Edition, Kador Edition, Tash-Murkon Edition, Sarum Edition and the standard edition. Khanid editions of Amarr ships will not be released. They will become a part of my personal fleet. This here is not all the color variants either. More will come.

I consider these ships complete. It is if course possible that I will change them in the future. They have the proper ratios in place for jump drive, thrusters, power and shields.

Something else I learned is that armor tanking is very possible and worth-while with the ships that I will be making. The Impairor is equipped with a role bonus to its armor, granting an 8% boost in resistance. I managed to fit an 8% efficient armor hardener on the ship. I then took another ship fitted with guns and attacked it. The ship had 12 3-block barrels with 50% overdrive effect added to represent the turrets of another frigate. Even with 12 barrels and 50% overdrive, the shots couldn't break through the hardened armor of the Impairor. It takes at least 2 full force direct hits with that setup to break an advanced armor block.

So there you have it. I have single handedly proven a point that I have made numerous times in the past. If you want armor to mean something, then you need to balance it with other systems. You cannot expect, even within your own fleet, that ships will be able to withstand the ridiculous weapons that you place on them.

I built this ship based on math. I didn't personally change any values from EVE. It's all just adjusted for StarMades numbers. And what do you know, I can take an armored ship and have it last just as long as a shielded one. This is a point that I will prove time and time again I feel. In the future I hope players will realize this as much as I have and begin to balance their ships further. Even among the best builders I see far too many of them building for looks and power instead of trying to achieve a type of gameplay that we haven't seen before.

Further testing will be done with the rookie ships when this is complete. On a side note. EVE released a new trailer. Link below.

For some reason this thread is not showing up when I search for threads created by me on my profile page. I almost thought I lost the thread there. Anyways I have finished the Astero.

Somehow I am still producing a new ship each week even though I thought I wouldn't be able to. It has a decent interior space. More so than I thought I would have been able to fit. There is still extra room for additional systems and weapon bonuses to be attached if they need /can be installed.

I have done a lot of math over the past few days. In order to ensure that ships work well with each other I needed to provide ratios that correspond to the stats from EVE online. Ships with better shielding in EVE get better shields in StarMade etc etc. I used the Heron, (recently released I might add) to plot a basis for the rest of the ships. This is because the heron had the smallest interior and could therefore fit the least amount of systems. I wouldn't want to try and cram in more than it was capable of down the line. I would then compare the heron, it's eve stats and the stats from any desired ship and get the numbers needed for the StarMade version. I recently setup a google spreadsheet that calculates the numbers. I punch in the EVE numbers and it spits out StarMade numbers. It's fantastic!

With this technique, not only can I produce a frigate hull about once a week if not faster but I can also fit that ship in as little as an hour and have it's stats as accurate as possible. Overall you should be seeing the most accurate EVE ships ever come out of this process. Anyway. Here is a video for the heron which I forgot as well as the link to DL it.

Hello! I have just finished two streams and I am done for the night. I worked on updating the stats on the Velator ships that I had done as well as working on the Minmatar Burst. Here is an image!

This thing was tricky. I was scared I wouldn't have a lot of room for systems inside. It is a massive ship for a frigate, probably two times larger than some of them in mass. Parts of the hull were also very thin. The interior was finished. It looks great. The interior was designed. I consider it sub-par but that is because of the lack of space. This ship was originally a small cargo vessel. It's cargo area is huge for a frigate. Then I looked at the stats. This thing has a 2.5 thrust to mass ratio. Crap...

But damn, I was wrong. In fact. I could probably bump that thrust to mass ratio to 3.0 or more with the space that I have left. It is all proportioned to EVE's values very accurately. This is one of the fastest accelerating ships to date. Not sure which ones go faster. Minmatar are known for this.

It does come with a drawback in other respects however. The interior space is very weak. The hull has random advanced plating but not extensive coverage. While it is fast, the recharge time for the jump drive is longer than some ships. It also has insufficient power to provide constant thrust. This is all based on EVE's numbers. For now I will not change it. If I really need to then I will do so in the future.

The ship is designed for transferring shield power to other ships. I have no idea how well it will work. Power regen is alright but obviously lacking for this purpose. Shield boosters and power reactors will be obvious choices for when you fit the ship with modules when I release them.

I plan on releasing a new ship, a color variant and updating the Velator on the dock tomorrow. Expect another post then.

Gotta say, this design is crazy. Great job replicating it, I really like the ship. Do you try to balance ship prices too?
