Do you want to build a station based on an asteroid you came across?
Do you have a ship, that would also look good as a station?
Do you have a station, that would be a nice ship?
Or do you just want to mess with starmade?

If you answered any of the above questions with 'yes', then I have the right tool for you.
    I present you, my Blueprint-type Converter: http://starmadedock.net/content/blueprinttype-converter.1010/
If you encounter errors, please notify me about them.

    • Java 7 or higher

    1. At first you run the file you downloaded.
    2. A window should request you to choose a file.
    3. Select the blueprints you want to convert(both *.sment and directories are accepted)[originals are left untouched]
    4. Now enter what kind of entity you want to convert the blueprint into.
    5. When the conversion is finished, a window pops up to notify you about it.

A tool that works great in combination: http://starmadedock.net/threads/blueprintcoremanipulator.4391/

If you have questions about it, ask them here.
If you have suggestions for it, suggest them here.
If you want to rate or comment on it, do it there.

Just so you know, *.sment are just renamed zip archives. Just extract it and use it in the same way as you are with the folders.

Some of you, who are familiar with java, might wonder why there is a textflield and not a dropdown selector(also known as ComboBox).
    I shall answer you:
Instead of typing in the entity-type's name, you can instead type in the entity-type's ID. This is useful to address new types of entities, even if I have stopped updating this converter, which is an unlikely case.

I think Starmade has the most community programs to assist in your experience than any other game.

Shows our small community stomps all the other game communities.

just tried to convert one of my space stations in to a ship. It worked...I guess, The ship core apparently was a power regen block. Could not get inside it the normal way but the Tab+F8 trick works fine.

Just wana know, Will you be updating this to change the center of stations into cores or add a core if the space is empty?

SMedit should be able to do it, but since I didn't use it I don't know if it was implemented.

Is there any particular reason why nothing is happening when I'm running the file?

The conversion doesn't actually seem to be happening... Unless I'm missing something here? I spawned the ship that I converted into a station ingame and it's still a ship. @Megacrafter127

Without the blueprint(both original and what it was turned into) to look at I can't do anything.

As it turned out, @keptick misunderstood, that this converter doesn't modify the original, but makes a new blueprint and performs the conversion on it on the fly.

Indeed. You may want to specify it in the instructions for people that have a gazillion blueprints in their bp folder like me.
