think about adding in dockable "humans" or drones (statues that resemble them) inside the walkways and rooms. maybe even moving around. even if they are 4 or 5 meter high it could work out, because your rooms are so big

Not sure I understand what a "dockable human" is, but trust me when I say that I doubt my computer can handle too many more docks. Maybe 10-15 more if they don't constantly move around :(

Went around doing some cosmetic changes and improvements to the interior, but mostly spent the day filling in empty space with stabilisers even though the reactor is 100% stable, every ship requires some redundancy in their systems. Also, I don't want to leave empty space in my Magnum Opus.

    starmade-screenshot-2838.png
These vast empty spaces are all around the ship, doing my best to dot a few more internals here and there but they'll mostly be filled in with stabilisers, honestly just because the shield capacity is such a nice even number atm.
    starmade-screenshot-2839.png
Also added some light bars to the patient ward so it's not pitch-black when the containment field is up.
    starmade-screenshot-2840.png
Added a few more of these unsymmetrical door designs where needed.
    starmade-screenshot-2841.png
Made the power generation core room a bit more aesthetic since the walls were very flat before.
[doublepost=1557432137,1557431728][/doublepost]Also touched up the engines and the rest of the rear end
    starmade-screenshot-2843.png
[doublepost=1557432235][/doublepost]Man imagine my disappointment when I realised I had somehow managed to watch today's episode of Paradise Hotel last night(?) :( there goes my night I guess. That's weird I guess because it was today's episode? But okay fine more starmade then I guess.

Added another room to try filling up the interior, feeling somewhat bi-polar here saying I'm done adding rooms, then adding five more all the time but oh well.

    starmade-screenshot-2854.png
    It's got a beautiful view..
    starmade-screenshot-2855.png
Alot of empty space inside said room though, might try filling it up with random junk at some point.
    starmade-screenshot-2856.png
an example of the absolutely stunning view

My toes are dead and I am tired, my fingers hurt because I accidentally cut myself when helping to move a goal, so even though I did plan on doing work on the ship when I got home rip I'm just going to go to bed and maybe/hopefully die of an infection (y)

Anyways here are some nice pictures I took of the ship after I got home and thought about doing some work, but instead, these will have to do

Look guys, the Aurora is done, I just think there's room for improvement on filling in the interior. However, filling her up is slow going, to say the least; so here's a new project I'm working on, will maybe make another thread for it idk

Found this blueprint which I must have downloaded ages ago and decided to do some work on it, it was made by this guy Nnoitra but he hasn't been active for a few years and I couldn't figure out how(if it's even possible to) dm the dude.

    Here are some establishing shots:

My work on the interior in the tower thing
    starmade-screenshot-2929.png
These shield emitters are all over the place, and yes they move
    starmade-screenshot-2917.png
    starmade-screenshot-2913.png
    Here's the core
    starmade-screenshot-2897.png
    I also made the shuttles
    starmade-screenshot-2939.png

Dunno why the original blueprint was brown, but tbh I kinda liked it like that

Hopefully, the guy that made the original blueprint doesn't mind me using it for my own Destiny version, but he just did such an amazing job on the hull that it would be a crime to not have it fully furnished and operational.

Nice work! Will you be posting your version of the Aurora?
Yeah, when I feel it's good enough

So don't hold your breath, because I keep finding things I'm not happy with, hence this little detour with the Destiny

A lot of fun making Destiny, really fed up with the Aurora sorry, so nothing new to report there.
Unfortunately, the Destiny' shields recharge way too quickly if anyone has any ideas how I can cover the entire ship with the shields and not have it recharge 30% per second once hit that'd be great.

Anyway made some cool solar collectors that can be extended and retracted like in the show

If a single central shield recharger's bubble doesn't cover a structure in its entirety, try increasing the shield recharger block count (sometimes a drastic increase is required, due to having been previously used to small amounts doing the job just fine, ie. from the times when shields didn't produced bubbles).

While if you find your recharge speed oddly fast, try increasing the total block count of shield capacitors, potentially building new banks of them (up to 20 banks are allowed per bubble).

Also, note that there's a possible scenario in which your shield doesn't charge "too quickly", but to the contrary, it doesn't charge at all. This is because the higher the total shield capacity (the HP or health point number) of a bubble, the more of a natural tendency it has to drain on its own. This passive drainage (called "upkeep") has a rate (measured in HP per second), which has to be matched and at least infinitesimally exceeded by the shield recharger's charging rate, to have at least an infinitesimal net positive recharge. Both of these HP/s values are displayed in the "Shield" dropdown of the left side panel in advanced build mode.

To know your net recharge rate, subtract the capacitors' upkeep rate from the recharger's raw charging rate.

And to know the time from empty to full charge in seconds, divide the total capacity with the net recharge rate.

(Or if I misinterpreted your goal, because you want shields that are manageable for the enemy, try using several shield bubbles of lower HP and net HP/s)

Thank you, that was very helpful, adding more capacitors now

Made some new better-looking turrets for the Aurora, though less powerfull (unfortunate), they look, much nicer.

    starmade-screenshot-3089.png
For some reason though, they move slower than the old ones.

Also found some random hull damage and fixed it.

In case anyone was interested this is how spooling the FTL drive while also *trying* to recharge the shields is like on the Destiny, little to no chance this is ever going to change because I suck at power and also the shields have to be B I G and also stronk
    starmade-screenshot-3102.png
Also, I added some of those weird clamp things and some retrograde thrusters.
    starmade-screenshot-3082.png
Working hard on the interior there are currently just kilometres of hallways leading to nowhere all over the place. And after adding almost 100 tonnes of shield capacitors a fair amount of space is now taken up by shield capacitors, especially in the left-wing.
The stupid main weapon also seems to not want to fire via remote-control sometimes and I'm looking into making it stronger, faster and better
    starmade-screenshot-3073.png
Shot at a small cute shuttle craft I made a good long while ago with the Main Weapon and it "barely" touched it so obviously, that is UNACCEPTABLE!
Can we also appreciate how good the exterior looks again, seriously wow.
    starmade-screenshot-3084.png
Also made some control rooms with the more "industrial" Ancient-y feel to them, you may notice the pipes representing some sort of capacitor relay pipe-electricity thing... yyyess
    starmade-screenshot-3083.png
Storage bay with a repair drone, with an airlock and supplies.
[doublepost=1564675049,1564673336][/doublepost]Main weapon upgraded somewhat, still a bit weak tbh

A ship with those dimensions, long and wide with a relatively small volume shouldn't have issues with power... depending on how much RP there is in it. If it were me...
    starmade-screenshot-0573.png
I'd place my reactor as near mid ships as possible, (possibly further back between the wings then in the above,) then I'd place red barriers and use the fill tool in the wing tips and nose to place the stabilizers. Then divide the groups by a gap of 3, so just do a 3 wide remove on the groups to split them down the middle. You can then look at balancing the groups by looking at the numbers that come up when you look at each physical group in game. You want to get the equally big groups bonus multiplier as close to 1 as possible. Once that's done you can trim the groups down all equally until your stability reaches it's desired percentage. I couldn't quite get all 6 dimensions in the above screenshot but it should* be possible...maybe? :)

On the shields, break even point on chargers to capacitors is 1:5. So if you want shields to charge you have to have less then 5 caps to every charger. Going above a ratio of 1:4 really starts to slow your charge speed down.

Keep up the great builds /thumbsup.

I wonder why it's long boi reactor
    starmade-screenshot-3108.png
.. He says, knowing perfectly well he made it like that for convenience(?) or whatever mad reason he justified it with
    [doublepost=1564742519,1564741434][/doublepost]An attempt was made...
    starmade-screenshot-3113.png
I mean tbf, there was SIGNIFICANT improvement made, will do a more extensive overhaul
    starmade-screenshot-3112.png
The shields are essentially held together by duct tape it seems hahaha
    starmade-screenshot-3110.png
Me: I don't want any empty space in my ship.
    Also me: haha funny shape.

The reactor isn't as stable, but at least it can keep up with consumption while operating the main systems
    starmade-screenshot-3115.png
    haha funny shape again

    starmade-screenshot-3117.png
    Certainly added some weight tho..

[doublepost=1564751514,1564751087][/doublepost]Made the Stabilisers on the wings follow the curve inwards a bit more
    starmade-screenshot-3119.png
[doublepost=1564753264][/doublepost]Reactor now 80% stable and there's less empty space inside the ship

Thank you, but to be fair that's because the hull was made by some other guy so like 80% of the ship is done it just needed some love
