We can do creative mode in "sandbox" mode but the pirates still come. So it's really more survival than sandbox.

So you set a fleet to defend the sector you're working in, but build helper is broken and therefore you have to log out and in 20 times to make circles. One of those times you forget to re-tell your fleet for the hundredth time to not let pirates kill you right in front of them.... ugh, BTW... and *BOOM*

Bye-bye 10-20 minutes of work since your last model save (because they take forever anyway on large entities you can't just save the model every few minutes). Only takes a few little holes to force a delete and respawn.

    Again.

Players can edit the cfg file, but seriously... that is not user friendly.

Please add an option in the launcher to de-activate pirates completely so that SP "sandbox" mode can actually be sandbox where people can creatively work on stuff, including new players who don't know how to edit their cfg files.

I know it's still rather tedious, but in SP you should be able to use admin rights to deactivate the spawning of any blueprints as enemies. But in all honesty, I would prefer a simple "no pirates" button to this solution any day.

I'd like to see something like this for all cfg file options implemented when there are no or very few features missing from the game.

I like the shit out of this suggestion

and yes to the more common cfg options getting the same treatment.

edit: forgot to add this, Starmade config editor. A good temporary solution made by Megacrafter for those interested.

I totally think this needs to be a thing. Maybe with an extra option for "Disable Pirate Spawns while in Creative" for players who want to be left alone when doing something and have everything be normal again when done.

I wholeheartedly agree. I just had to repair some (minor but annoying) damage due to the pirates spawning as some new drone designs I built. On the plus side, I know the drones work well.....

I then had to go through my ship list (there are many) and deactivate "Enemy Usable". Wish I could set all, or disable pirates with a button. I can go into the config, but I'm very lazy lol.

Well, hopefully this, along with an easier way to change .cfg options, will be in the next update, which I've heard probably includes a main menu.

You're right. That's not user friendly at all.

As others have discovered, a menu system is being worked on currently. All currently hidden away cfg file settings will now be easily accessed from within the new main menu structure.

It's still in dev, so we can't give 100% confirmation on things as we work out the details. However right now i am able to do what you desire in the dev builds and we aim to keep it that way on release.
    Hope this helps.
