Welcome to the GUI Changer Thread!

    About:

The GUI Changer is an extension for the lovely 3D sandbox space shooter called StarMade. It allows you to change the user interface of the game and make it look better or more comfortable for you.

It has been programmed by Agronaut022 and designed by Blakubus and will be updated as long as it is necessary. Suggestions how to improve the program and reviews are gladly seen in the comments.

hmm this would come in handy, now just to track down a full mod manager. :)

So this stores GUI mods outside of the starmade installation letting you keep them through updates and making it easier to change them?

We are planning to release an open source version, if we don't want to work on the GUI Changer anymore or don't know how to make it better. So the community itself can create a customized mod loader or something else based on our program. Maybe one day, when there are many modifications for StarMade we will try to transform the GUI Changer into a full mod manager, so it is easier for you to modify this wonderfull game.

Guys this is brilliant! One of the problems I've constantly had is my hotbar disappearing after I revert back to the default GUI or cgange/update an ecosting one. It always takes a clean installation to get the hotbar back.

Since this program didn't involve messing with the SM dir, I decided to give it a shot. I was able to change GUIs quickly AND my hotbar didn't dissappear! Thank you so much! Now all we need is more custom GUIs. When is someone going to make a Star Wars one?

I am happy, that you like the program and some problems you had could be fixed. :)
Yeah, that's the problem. Let's be honest: the only one, who currently designs and Uploads GUIs is me and I feel very proud about that, but also very sad. If I would like Star Wars, I probably would release a Star Wars themed GUI for you, but I've just watched the first film and really didn't like it. But I would be very happy if someone would release a Star Wars GUI for all the fans out here. I keep my fingers crossed for this and hope, that the GUI will look great for you. :)

Star Wars fans don't like the first film. Just remember that episode 4 was released first and watch from there :)

Yup, I heard that from a few friends of mine and they also told me about some of the films, but I don't like all the wars and the "fighting against the dark" thing. I like it more peacefull, like it is in Star Trek*.

Yeah man, I mean what about DS9 season 2 and up? The Dominion decimated starfleet and klingon defense force fleets. The ships are ripped apart like wrapping paper on Christmas morning at the battle of Chintoka I. It's worse then what happened at w359.

Yes SW has fight scenes and stuff. The only real fighting is when the rebels try to knock out both death stars, and an epic scene in ESB involving the Melinium Falcon, and 3 iirc real lightsaber duels throughout the original trilogy. They are worth your time to watch.

^ Forgets absurdly huge battle in RotS.

    Also how is this relevant?

I did mention the second deathstar which encompases the battle of endor since it is a key element in the who plot, I mentioned 3 lightsaber duels, one of which is in ROTJ. Other than that I don't recall any other major fights accept the one in the beginning involving Solo and the sarlacc pit. As for the relevancy The first quote I cited above states that Blackubus doesn't like fighting and wars. This was to accurately show how much is actually fighting vs story. Ep. I - III had all the special effects of today, plus the more action and light saber battles, the more people will pay to see it right? It was things like that that give potential fans a turn off after they watch ep 1 and I don't blame them. But you always start with Ep IV and after you see VI, then you go and watch I, II, and III to see it all come together.

Can you make a version for OSX and Linux? (Like with Java or Mono?)
