    I currently can't post news entries, so I have to post it here (the news entry will be made later):

    I'm currently uploading a fix for the weapon combination curves. A calculator to see how a buff/nerf works has been added in the "tools" section of the client startup screen.

    Also there are a few fixes:

    - AI can now use Missiles and Beams
    - Shields are now ignored by pull/push/stop effects (can be edited in the config though if you want to turn it off again)
    - /kill_character admin command crash fixed
    - some initial changes to the vanilla config. There will soon be more as more feedback comes in.

    Please don't panic about some values in the config and other bugs. We are working to fix it as fast as possible.

    @Sven_The_Slayer Thanks for making a video to show the bugs. Missiles have been fixed. The AI jerking is not new and doesn't have anything to do with the server flipping out ^^. I hope to fix that jerking in the upcoming patches.

    ...But this is just a fix patch... Schema always does those if an update is buggy. He says updates should come every two weeks or so now, but we'll see...

    I'm only glad I can help identify problems, have you seen the second video I posted? The DPS of different master to slave ratios varies from what I would expect. A 20 cannon weapon is 100 DPS but a 19:1 rapid fire cannon only deals 5.26 dps

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that having more than 100% of your main weapon system in your secondary does nothing. Basically, a 1:1 and a 1:19 are exactly the same. I haven't done nearly as thorough experimentation, but the number in the weapons panel just says 100%, no more, no matter how many more blocks are in the secondary weapon system. That's why the rate of fire stays the same once you have equal parts main and secondary.

    However, for the first few systems that you showed off, there is definitely something wrong with the DPS. I think the problem has to do with the damage instantly dropping down to 10, though that hasn't happened with weapons that I've tested.

    I would be really happy if the beams were to focus fire because it is very hard sometimes to use them

    Agreed, maybe make it so they focus while you press a certin key or something, that would be very useful for quickly switching between shotgun arrays and focused arrays.

    Already reported, bug #294 http://bugs.star-made.org/issues/294 but no responce from Schine yet.

    Perhaps that's one of the balancing features to the higher damage output of beam weapons... no they probably should focus fire otherwise they would be really hard to use on anything larger than a fighter.

    My missile turrets are still not engaging the enemy, they don't even track the target anymore.

    Do planets generate super slowly for others as well? I'm running the game on a pretty decent laptop (i7 3630QM, GeForce 740M, 8GB RAM) with Java 64 bit, but planets seem to take ages to load/generate, one had generated about 5 chunks or so on each side after 10 minutes...

    EDIT: I also noticed bad framerate drops on planets, and slight drops on stations.

    I agree with the slow loading not only for planets, but with large ships as well. I was hanging around a planet to check it out, and it had hardly loaded at all after about 5 minutes. And my current project ship (just a shell so far, but massive dimensions) takes 2-3 minutes to load in full, where it would only take a few seconds beforehand. Asteroids that I fly past are only half loaded, etc.

    On a side note, thanks for the great game update! I'm really looking forward to revamping some of my ships with the new shield balance changes and stuff.

    Having this problem also. It's super slow. I'm even using the lowest quality res for the block textures.

    My question is why I cannot see the anti-matter con non blasts if you can tell me how to fix that

    Ohmygosh I have that same thing it annoys the crap out of me. The only one that generated an earth like planet I built a colony on it i go to the shop and I go back AND IT TAKES LITERALY AN HOUR TO LOAD I TIMED IT

    Ohmygosh I have that same thing it annoys the crap out of me. The only one that generated an earth like planet I built a colony on it i go to the shop and I go back AND IT TAKES LITERALY AN HOUR TO LOAD I TIMED IT
    try turning on your VBO memory. i had the same problem of planets taking forever to load but after i turned on the VBO they loaded quite fast.

    When you say AI can now use Missles and Beams, does that mean only Pirates? or does that mean that Bobby AI can finally fire missiles and use salvage or repair beams?
