    The Vanguard-class destroyer was designed to be the workhorse of any fleet. Jack of all trades, but master of none, the Vanguard can provide assistance in many roles but excels at none, focusing on versatility rather than sheer combat efficiency. Being the middle ground between the Archer frigate and the Leviathan battlecruiser, the ship kept some of the Archer's mobility, but what it lost in that department, certainly makes up for with its unmatched firepower.
    Just like the Archer, the Vanguard utilizes considerable shielding for its mass, backed up by military-grade armor (and additional armored casing around critical systems) and a point defense grid of no less than 12 anti-missile turrets.
    The ship has a full crew of 42, although the quarters are not nearly as spacious as on the Leviathan. It is equipped with a med bay, mess hall, briefing room, crew teleporter and a hangar housing a short-range shuttle, mainly used for crew transport and rescue operations.

    Utilizing missiles as its heavy-hitting weapons, the Vanguard has no less than 4 different missile systems: 2 vertical-launch batteries with 14 low-yield missiles each, and 2 smaller, 4-barrel vertical launchers with heavy hitting warheads allow to attack targets even with considerable anti-missile defences at range.
    For sustained fire, the front of the ship houses a sizeable dual Arc Beam system, providing accurate firepower at close to mid-range.
    To add utility, a 11x9 salvage grid is installed (20 block groups, double checkerboard) to enable gathering materials either from asteroids at high threat zones, or fallen foes. A similar 11x9 Astrotech array is also available to perform field repairs and even replace blocks - often with those salvaged from the less fortunate participants of a recent battle.

    Turret-wise, the Vanguard kept all 4 of the Archer's Longbow turrets, and added 4 Defender autocannon turrets to provide more sustained fire.

    Heh, I'm glad you like it. Kinda makes me feel guilty since I haven't updated my ships in a while... maybe when new power rolls in and I learn how to use it.
    Simply amazing, I love it. And the interior is very nice and feels spage-agey. I also love the core room!

    This thing looks amazing! the exterior looks intimidating, and the interior is very detailed. i love the shuttle in the back. However i do have one problem... I cant find the ship core to pilot it. Please let me know where it is.

    Wow this thing is by far the best ship I have ever tested. I mean the turret damage alone is devastating, and I can diffidently say DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS THING!! You will severally regret it. My best suggestion, turn tale, run, and hope you can out run it. And even though the shields are kind of weak for a ship of this class I still wouldn't suggest 1v1 against this thing unless, you have a very good ship to match it. Otherwise you'll find yourself on zero shields, low hull, and possibly dead very quickly. So basically for those of you who like to decimate people and look good while doing it, this ship is what your looking for.

    Exterior is well done and the interior (like on some ships) doesn't disappoint in looks either. Keep up the great work for ships like this.

    Recommendation? I can't recommend it more and if I could I would diffidently give it more then 5 stars. This thing is by far my most favorite ship I've tested in Starmade thus far, if not my most powerful. (that I can test due to size issues for others)
