Leviathan-II battlecruiser

    Leviathan-II battlecruiser Mk3

    Game version
    v0.199.654a
The Leviathan class was the Free Worlds League's first capital ship, weighing in at a total of sixty thousand cubic tons. The early design was crude, but effective, and after years of service, instead of retirement, it received a radical overhaul on the systems department, while still keeping the old looks - mostly.
The Leviathan-II class is always highly appreciated among the FWL Navy crew, not only because the ship's sheer size and firepower offered quite high chances of survival even in wartime, but also because it had the most spacious quarters and most comfortable facilities in the Navy. Able to house a crew of 41, such measures were required for the ship not to turn into a crowded mess, which would take a serious toll on crew morale.
While the crew like the ship for the fact it doesn't only sport a mess hall and relatively comfy quarters, but also a fancy bar on the observation deck, the higher-ups prefer it for its unmatched versatility in the FWLN. Captains have no less than 6 different weapon systems to choose from, depending on the type of target, distance, and the mission itself.
The first volley usually comes from the 2 vertical HELRM batteries, followed by the Ion beams once the ship closes the distance. Once the enemy shields are down, the high-yield spinal mounted plasma accelerator can gut even a capital ship's insides in a fairly short time. Against multiple smaller targets, a heatseeker missile battery can be utilised. In addition to that, the Leviathan also sports a sizeable salvage array, and a drone bay capable of holding up to 6 drones, and a stunning amount of turrets to take down any incoming missile, or fighter.
If all this wasn't enough, the Leviathan sports an extensive electronic utility suite, including a signal jammer, 60% Ion hardening on its shields, a scanner array and a hefty jump inhibitor. For long-range travels, a chain jump drive was installed, replacing the old Leviathan's oversized jump drive, allowing not only for half a million extra shielding to be installed, but also an Ion defense system.

This was a formidable ship before the recent power update. At this point it doesn't have access to any of the new power features and the 3rd weapon slot (the most powerful cannon array) no longer works. Hopefully the creator will update this ship to the new power systems so it can once again be useful on current servers.

A re-fit is in progress, but I'm sort of tight on time. Already finished the Dagger and the Warpath, the Leviathan is next and then the Archer to give myself a smaller project to relax.
