Introducing the Tieren Mobile Suit, Ground Type (formal designation MSJ-0611-A) from the Mobile Suit Gundam 00!
The Tieren served as the mainstay of the Human Reform League's ground forces from A.D. 2301 to A.D. 2308. It was later used by the Earth Sphere Federation Army's regular forces, and the anti-government group, Katharon. Cheap, reliable, and heavily armored, the Tieren was produced in massive quantities and in many variants. This was just as well, as individually, the Tieren was significantly outclassed by 3rd-generation mobile suits from the Advanced European Union (AEU) and the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations.
While the AEU and the Union both sought to develop technologically advanced, high-mobility, dual-purpose mobile suits, the HRL took a much simpler, low-tech approach to development. They sought a ground-based unit with the armor and firepower to dominate any ground battlefield. Building on the success of the MSJ-04 Fanton, the HRL developed the Tieren. The Tieren carried more armor than a tank and could sustain hits even from Gundam particle beams. Its reliability and ease of maintenance made it extremely effective in the field. But the Tieren's most successful feature was its versatility. The base frame could be outfitted with different arm-carried weapons to suit any mission. The unit pictured below is equipped with a 200mm Smoothbore Cannon and Anti-Personnel Machine Gun. The base frame could also be modified to carry a long-range cannon, and could even be modified for space combat. Furthermore, despite the Tieren's reputation for sloth, the Tieren Taozi variant was a match even for a Gundam.
